Thomas

You never should have come here in the first place. This was no place for you. The enormous walls towering over you, creating dark shadows that fell in the passage. You tried to stay calm. "Breathe, y/n, breathe" You whispered to yourself. You was calm now, but you knew it wouldn't stay this way for long. Panic was close, just a few seconds and it would attack, it was circling above you, like an eagle and it's prey. And there it came first slow and then really quick. Panic took control over your body. Your hands were shaking, your breast went up and down, filling your lungs with air in a quick pace. You turned around facing the maze. It was even more terrifying at night. You'd never make it, you knew nothing about the maze and you weren't fast. Why had you been so stupid? Why did you need to prove yourself so badly? "Well y/n, no face the conscequences" you whispered to yourself.

~flashback of earlier this day~

Thomas had just left with the other runners and you had some time to relax before making lunch. You find a nice tree and sat down leaning against the trunk, enjoying the shadow. You heard some boys talking about something in a low voice. Your curiosity took over and you went closer to hearwhat they're saying. You hide behind a tree, you carefully looked at the boys. You recognized John, a builder, you didn't really like him and the feeling was mutual. "She's just a waste of space, her food tastes like klunk, Fry was better of alone" John said. They were obviously talking about you. The other two guys chuckled. "I bet that if she enters the Maze she'd faint inmediatly" John continued. Something snapped in you, rage filling your chest. You stepped away from the tree. "I bet you wouldn't even dare to enter the maze" you said. John obviously disn't expect you there, for a few seconds his face was filled with surprise but he quickly recovered. "O yeah y/n, do you wanna bet?" He asked. "We'll both go into the Maze after the runners come back. The one that chickens out first and leaves the maze will do whatever the other says for a month" John dared you. You knew it was a bad idea, Thomas made you promise to always stay in the Glade. But on the other side, you didn't want to be John's personal slave for a month. "Okay" you said. John smirked. "Good than shank, I see you in the maze" he said. He walked away with his friends. The day passed by quickly. The Runners came back and you greeted Thomas. Than he went to the Map Room with the others. After a few minutes you saw one of John's friends come over. "Hey y/n, why are you still here? You're supossed to enter. Remember? John's already in there." You looked at the empty passage. "Well, I don't see him" you stated. "Oh, he's further in there. At the end of this passage go to the right and then to left" the boy said. You should have known that there was something wrong with the whole case but you didn't think about that. You only thought about how you had to prove yourself. You walked towards the entrance of the maze, took a deep breath and walked inside. You walked to the place where John was supossed to be. It actually was quite far. Took you 15 minutes to get there. When you arrived you saw nobody. You smiled knowing that you'd won. But as soonas the smile came it dissapeared. You heard a familiar sound, the doors were closing. You hadn't thought of that. You started to run back. But when you entered the passage that lead towards to maze the doors closed. "Shuck" you yelled.

~back to present~

You looked at the big and terrifying maze. You felt really small. You knew there were Grievers. You knew you couldn't stay at this same spot forever. You wanted Thomas to be with you now. He knew the maze and it's dangers. You knew nothing. You only knew you had to run. You tried to push your fear away without result. You closed your eyes hoping you would wake up and this all was just a nightmare. But when you opened your eyes nothing had changed. Then you started to run. You didn't know where and for how long you only knew one thing. "Never stop running"

Newt

The moment you wake up, you felt it. And now at the end of the day it was still there. The horrible feeling of being trapped. You never felt like this before. The Glade appeared ten times smaller than normal. You felt like a bird trapped in it's cage. You felt claustrophobic. You hadn't told Newt. It probably would go away sooner or later. But now the feeling was really strong. It was completely filling you. The four walls surrounding you were so big. You wanted to get out of this place. Embrace freedom. Just run away. You wanted to live like a normal girl of your age. You imagined how great it would be to go and stand wherever you wanted. To not be afraid. To not be surrounded. To be free. Why had they chosen you? What had you done to be here? You felt someone sit next to you. "What are you thinking about Love?" A British accent asked you. "Life" you answered. You turned your head looking into Newt's kind eyes. "That's a lot to think about than" he said. You nodded and rested your head on his shoulder. He started playing with your h/c hair. You sat like this for a moment. "Newt, have you ever thought about getting out of here? Like give it all up to get out of here?" You asked softly. Newt sighed." Y/n I have thought a lot about that. But we have to wait. Be patience. One day we'll get out of here. Together. I promise" he wispered. You smiled at his words but the feeling didn't get away, it just became stronger. The feeling was really strong now. You mind started to play tricks with you. At the corner of your eye you saw all the walls come closer. Your shot up from your sitting position. "Y/n!?" What's up?" Newt asked standing up. Closer, the walls were sliding towards you. The doors started closing. "That's the only way out. Behind those doors lies your freedom y/n" an voice in the back of your mind whispered. You didn't hear what Newt what saying to you. Without thinking you ran. As hard as you could, you ran towards those doors. The doors were closing. You ran harder. You heard shouts behind you but you didn't pay attention to them. A few meters. Harder, closer. The moment you went through the doors they closed. You leant against a wall panting. You looked around and the truth hit you like a brick in your face. You were in the Maze. There was not such a thing as freedom in this place. There was no way back towards the glade and Newt. You slide down against the wall. The tears came, you sobbed loudly and screamed some unintelligent things. After a long time, the tears stopped flowing. You stood up and started walking into the Maze with it's secrets and dangers. With Grievers and dead ends. "Be brave " that's the only thing you kept in mind.

Minho

It was a normal days like every other day. You woke up early in the morning. You went towards the map room and reunited with the other Runners. You had ran with other Runners for some time but now you were running alone. You saw Minho standing in the corner of the room. You walked towards him. "Hi" you greeted. Hi y/n" he said. "Gotta give them a good morning talk" he said to you. Minho stepped out of the corner into the middle of the room. "Okay shanks, just do the normal thing. Cut the ivy and keep running. And search for a way out of course. You all know what section you got. Be careful and don't die. " minho ended his "motivating" speech and the Runners started to leave the room. Before I stepped out of the room, Minho gave me a final hug. Then we ran. I loved to run. Might sound crazy. But I loved all kinds of speed. I loved how the wind blew through my hair. How everything past by in a blur. I just can't explain it. 🏃. We entered the maze and everyone went to their own section. The Sun was warming up your skin. You cut some ivy . After a few hours you took a break. You sat in the shadow of the walls. You started to think about thinks. How would life be outside the maze? Would your family remember you. Were they still alive? You looked up at the blue sky. It was your favorite color. The sky was beautiful. It was always changing. The morning sky was different than the afternoon and the evening sky. Your eyelids felt heavy. You opened your eyes. You hastily stood up. You fell asleep. You looked at you watch. 30 minutes, an half hour and the doors would be closing. You had to run. Your feet started moving. You pushed yourself harder than ever before. You ran through the maze. Turning around corners, avoiding death ends, avoiding Grievers in case they would be there. Your legs burned and your sides stung. "Run, run harder" you whispered to yourself, immediately regretting that waste of air. You inhaled sharply. Then it started, the familiar rumble of the closing doors. Stone against stone. With every step you took the sound became louder. But before you even saw the doors, you heard the familiar "boom" making it clear to you that you would be spending a night in the maze. You stpped running. Defeated you sat down. You put you head in your hands. You inhaled and exhaled deeply. You were exhausted. You had no energy left. You had no water and no food. You sat against the wall, resting for some minutes. Metal against stone. Grievers. They were coming. You couldn't stay here.. You didn't want to be a Griever meal. Not tonight. You jumped to your feet. And then you ran.

Finally updated. This took me a lot of time. Hope y'all like it.
