20 Years Later

Shawn's P.O.V

"Don't you run away from me!" I shout at my 16 year old daughter, Taylah, while running up the stairs to her room. I hear her door slam as I am stopped by an unknown force.

"Calm down love, I'll go talk to her," Niall told me. "You two need a little time away from each other. Go relax for awhile." This is why I love my husband; when he sees I've had enough of one of the kids' ridiculousness, he's steps in as I would do for him. He gently kisses me before heading up the stairs. "I love you."

"I love you too," I say, returning the favour.

I went to the game room in the basement to find our 14 year old son, Shain, playing pinball by himself. "Hey Shain, what are you up to?" I go to hug him.

"Muuuuuuuum," he complains.

"Oh just take it, none of your friends are here," I joke. He gives in and hugs me back.

"Mum?" He asks, still embracing me.

"Yeah hon?"

"Why is Taylah always gone?"

"Because she's sixteen and rebelling against Dad and I."

"Oh," he pouted.

I gently pushed him off me and looked directly in his eyes. "Hey, keep your chin up," I encouraged, "she'll come around. You'll probably rebel against us at some point too."

"Thanks Mum."

"I love you, Shain."

"I love you too Mumma."

I smiled and left Shain to continue his pinball game.

I left the basement and retreated to the living room. I was just picking up the phone to call Perrie when I heard an 8 year old girl's scream of pain.

"MOMMY!!!" She cried from the front door.

"What happened love?" I ask, running over.

"I-I-I-I f-f-f-fell-l-l off my bi-i-i-ike," she sobbed. I picked her up and carried her to my bathroom. Once I set her on the counter, I removed her pink, flowery helmet.

"Okay Jules, what hurts?" I asked, grabbing bandages, gauze and disinfectant.

"Kn-n-n-nee," my daughter told me, still shaking. I went to wipe up her bloody knee. "I want Daddy," she whined.

"Ok, I'll go grab him. You hold this tight, I'll be right back with Daddy."

I left the eight year old holding guaze to her knee to grab my husband from our eldest daughter's room. I gently knocked on the door before opening it. I saw Niall holding Taylah as they talked about her excessive missing curfew,

partying, and She was slightly crying. "Hey, sorry to interrupt but Niall, Jules scraped her knee on the pavement and wants you," I softly say.

"Ok, we were just about done," Niall told me before whispering something in Taylah's ear.

"Our bathroom," I answer his unasked question.

I turn around and am greeted by three bodies; Taylah's and the other two 8 year olds, J.D and Ciaran (pronounced "Keer-in"). We wanted just one more kid but nope, we got three more.

"I'm sorry mom," the eldest of the three whispered to me.

"Just don't let it happen again, okay love?" I replied. They all released me.

"Mooooooooom?" J.D whined.

"Yes hon?"

"When's everyone gonna get here? I wanna see Tyler and Dakota!"

"They'll all be here soon J," I replied as the doorbell rang. "I bet that's one of your uncles!"

I opened the door to find Zayn and Perrie with their 17 year old son, Jionni, and 12 year old girl, Saria. Jionni's a good kid but I hope nothing goes on between he and Taylah. I directed their kids off to my kids as the doorbell rang again.

Liam and Dani walked in with twin boys Tyler and Dakota and they ran off immediately to J.D and Ciaran's room. The three of us just rolled our eyes.

Next to arrive was Harry, his wife Victoria, and their children, 14 year old, Phaedra and 10 year old, Sarah.

Last but not least, Louis and El arrived with 17 year old Greg; their 19 year old daughter, Laural, is currently at university.

After an hour and a half of relentless chatter, supper was made and all the kids were downstairs ready to eat.

We will always be forever but are no longer hidden.
