"Al! You should totally come!" screamed the enthusiastic plead from my closest, or only, friend Jule. I slowly backed away the phone from my ears to prevent myself from further ear damage.

"Why? So I can see people I hate and socialize?" I bellowed at the phone

"So you can say you were at least part of high school..." she murmured

I rested my head on my headboard as I closed my eyes as I heard Jules familiar negotiation tactic as my memories fled back to me.

I remembered being only being five years as I left my home country, I barely knew what was happening. All I could remember is mom holding my hands smiling as we ascended into the metal machine which I knew to be called a plane. It was horrifying at first being the first time I ever flew, but yet I was happy. Mother returned for me so we could have a better life. It was so hard to live without her for a year I was ecstatic that we were finally together. We arrived at Lawrence George International Airport the next day, I thought we would have settled but with difficulties for my mother finding a job that could manage the two of us was difficult.

Dad? Only sweet memories of dad's embrace. In my flashbacks dad was always hugging us, smiling he looked so happy I would never see him as a negative being. Yet mom told me stories of how he was which resulted in their divorce. Hoping from places to places, Island to island, country to country I've been to 5 different middle/primary schools and only 3 different high schools hopefully Bay Bride High would be my final. It's my last year then I would be 100% certain I will be grounded.

The past moving years have been miserable I've been made fun at humiliated, unwanted I was not a belonger of their country I was practically an alien in their eyes, I just learned to remain quiet, hidden and invisible.

"Why would I go? I'm not gonna do it Jule, thanks." I replied halfway of her strategy to get me to go to the school's fair. I hung up the beige land line phone as I slipped down into my covers.

I heard the familiar tune of Big Bang's song .I groaned searching for my phone hitting the snooze button. 11:30 pm? Why do I have an alarm for this again? Right exams! Study!

This last year meant I needed to do extremely well, I needed to get into a good university, and I needed a scholarship...

Huffing a miserable breath, I leaped out of my bed with my girly pajamas and slumped onto the carpet on the ground. Reaching under my bed, I pulled out a suitcase filled with books, my school books, text books, note books, school supplies scattered everywhere. I rummaged through the old, red tattered suitcase to locate my history text book and note book. Switching on the lamp I put on my obviously fell down a dozen times blue framed glasses over my large brown eyes and began to read with a pencil stuck in my frizzy black bed hair.

"Alex! I'm leaving." squeaked my mom as she huddled through the door with her hand filled with her black working bag and three files in the other with her keys dangling from her small mouth.

I smiled to myself as I drank my green tea, she was so determined and hard working, some qualities I wish I possessed naturally like her. But according to mom I took after my father, lazy and rude. Mostly because I tend to not want to do house work and argue with her even though I'm most likely wrong. Adjusting my white v neck tee shirt over my faded washed out light blue jeans I grabbed my one strap back with my glasses fixed on my head with ends stuck in my frizzy black hair as I wrapped it into a messy bun. I looked down at my white now cream beaten converse. One day I'll be able to buy all the shoes in the world I'll have a pair for every day of the year I thought to myself happily.

"One day" I muttered closing the white door behind me and turning the keys I rushed over to mom's company car where I pleaded for a drop to school.

Stepping out of the car, I glanced up at the familiar iron gates with the name of the school written with large rustic metal work. The small school with only two stories expanded the through the western side of the land. The main building at the front had the shape of an L, with brick red walls and cream metallic railing, and glass windows. I trudged through the cracked grey concrete path and drive way to the main entrance. At the very front of the school was a lawn and a round monument where beautiful flowers bloomed. Further north was a brick parapet with prettier flowers that extended as long as the width of the school and stopped at the drive way. In front of that was numerous Flamboyant trees with wooden benches and tables where students normally sit and eat since eating in classrooms were prohibited.

Taking out my phone to give to the secretary for safe keeping I made my way to the glass doors, slightly opening the door a loud ruckus was heard. Followed by howls of laughter and whooping a group of boys ran towards the door. Panicked and flustered I quickly to move aside but was too late as I was pushed down into the monument of bush as the boys ran from the familiar cranky voice. With my feet not extended managed to trip three figures which resulted in a heavy mass of muscles and bags on top of me. Gasping in pain as I tried to push against the back of whoever was on top of me I heard the scolding.

"Detention for all of you," croaked Miss Adams, the head of the school. All, including the incredibly heavy human on top of me groaned.

"Get off!" I managed to shriek, stunned all three quickly pounced up.

"Ms. Vancouten?"asked the headmistress as she extended a hand towards me. Happily reaching for it as she helped me up I looked at the three guys who were now turning red from laughter.

"You were a part of this?"

I shook my head as I brushed the dirt with my free hand, still holding onto Ms. Adams slippery hands.

"Yes mam" said a tall, blonde figure, "she was"

"No I wasn't!" I began in protest when she quickly released my hand causing me to stumble backwards into the monument again.

"Detention!" she roared and hurried off in her tiny heels with the annoying clickity- clack.

I angrily glared at the three boys before turning around to look for my now missing phone. Where was it? I panicked as I began to part what now seemed like a jungle for the silver Samsung touch which my mother worked her butt off for.

"Bye Ms. Vancouten, see you in detention," said an unknown voice mockingly as I began to still search for my phone hearing the snickers of the evil trio.

There it was, next to a beautiful blue tulip, I picked it up when I noticed another similar phone. Was it the devil's own? Only the four of us fell, must have belonged to the demons, I thought to myself. I picked it up with the intention of following them to inquire the knowledge of the phone when the bell rang.

"Great!"
