"Internet" Friends

Chapter 5

It's been a long time now since I've known Raquel and Abigail. We became so close, it was like I forgot the fact that they lived halfway around the world. But whenever I make my mind grasp that thought, I would use all of my will power to push it out.
I told some of my friends from school, about my new friends. Some of them thought it was cool, and I'm sure a few of them thought it wasn't a good idea.
But the thing that makes me mad, is the fact that people don't believe internet friends is a good idea. Okay, some internet friends are not okay.
But I don't think of Raquel And Abigail as internet friends. I think of them as real friends. Because that's what they are. Does a screen in front of us change that? No. Hell no it does not. Just because they are behind A screen, doesn't mean they aren't real. They are real people. With real feelings. They have a heart beat, like everyone else. They have a back story, like everyone does. What makes them different? If you love them, and they love you, they are your friends. Meeting on the internet doesn't change anything.
So maybe the communication isn't face to face. But now with our world, people who are friends and know each other in real life, probably talk more online than face to face. Some adults don't like internet friends, but what they don't realize, is the fact that internet friends are basically pen pals. So for those of you who don't think internet friends is a good idea, rethink it. Yes, as said before, don't go meeting someone and right away giving your address to them. Now that isn't smart. But what you need to do is give them a chance. Not all internet friends are serial killers. Get to know them. Because if you do, they could change your life. They could teach you lessons. You could learn so many new things, so just give it a chance.
