[Chaewon's pov]

Damn, as I get closer to her I realise there is a profound beauty in the way she carries herself that makes it impossible not to fall in love with the small details, from the gentle curve of her smile to the radiant kindness that shines through her eyes and warms everyone in her presence.

" --Kim Minju???" says Wonbin.

I just snapped out of my illusion.

"What's wrong with you??" asks Hyunjin.

I touch my forehead.

"No I just feel tired after spending my time on my desk.. Haha" I awkwardly laughed.

I'm so shy. Why do I act like this.

"By the way, thank you, Wonbin" says Minju.

"Oh yeah! Happy Birthday!" says Chaewon

I get so nervous that my mouth comes out with nothing. I wish I could say "happy birthday" before Wonbin. Aihh

"Chaewon, if you wanted a rest you can rest in my room upstairs."

"No, I'm totally fine. If I have to I should just go back home, right? Haha"

Why am I like this? Why do I sound so rude.

The situation was awkward. Maybe it is because of how I'm behaving.

Should I say sorry?

[Minju's pov]

Why is she like that? She doesn't behave like this with Wonbin. She seems so uninterested with me. Aghhh. Maybe the rumors are not really true. However, she is still acting cute.

"Urm I think I should go and approach my friends inside." Wonbin walked away.

"Oh me too. I wanna change my clothes for swimming heheh" Hyunjin giggles and walks away.

Now, it's just me and Chaewon. The silence hits. Not her and not me dare to talk.

Suddenly...

"Ahh Im sorry for always talking to you rudely. I'm scared that my words will bleed your hearts. Hehe"

Aihh we never really had conversations. I don't know why she always sounds rude to me but somehow cute.

However, my mind was miserable. I can't stop thinking about her and Wonbin.

"Chaewon, can I ask you something?"

"Yes."

She answers me without looking.

"About Wonbin."

"What about him?"

"Do you guys--"

"Nuu uhhh. I would never date someone like him. Hes all about himself haihh."

What!? What a good answer. We laugh together. In my heart, I still wish the rumor was true? Why does she look like she doesn't care about me?

Isnt it obvious that I like her?

Suddenly...

"Uuu-p!"

Someone bumped into me and I was about to fall backwards but I felt like someone steadied me before I tipped over and I felt hands holding me tightly.

"You alright?"

I turn my head a little and oh. It's Chaewon who caught me just in time. We lock in eyes. There are no words that could come out of my mouth. My heart is beating so fast. My stomach is filled with butterflies. Our faces are close and I really want to kiss that lips.

"Hey you alright?" Chaewon repeat.

I snap out of my world and quickly regain my balance.

"Oh, I'm sorry."

I'm trying to act normal after I almost fell. Ughh so embarrassing. Who bumped into me aghhh. Our first long interaction turned out like this. I can't look into her eyes. I'm so shy.

[Chaewon's pov]

Oh my god. Her eyes are so cute. Why is she looking at me. Why is she not wanting to regain her balance.

"Hey you alright?"

She composed herself.

"Oh, I'm sorry"

"No it's okay. It's not ur fault. Someone just bump into you and just walk away. Haiyaa"

Suddenly the lights are off...

Slow music playing...

"Happy Birthday~~ To~~You~~"

Its Hyunjin. He is carrying the cake with candles on it.

I look at Minju. A beautiful smile draws in her face. Even her eyes smile. I'm clearly not the main character in her life. I'll just wait over here in the corner. I step back giving them time together.

[3rd Person Pov]

Yeri notice Chaewon walk away from there and alert Yena to see what's happening.

Everyone is singing happily for Minju.

Hyunjin kneels down. He took out the jewelry he bought for Minju.

Chaewon is looking at the moment. Her smiles fade away because she feels ache in her heart. She feels like crying. She just walked away and went inside of the house. Like she knew what he's gonna do

Yeri notice Chaewon walk away from there and alert Yena to see what's happening

Seeing Chaewon walk off like that sent a wave of anxiety through Minju. She couldn't help but worry if something was wrong.

"Minju, I've never actually felt the need to explain myself to anyone until I met you. Would you like to be my girlfriend?" Hyunjin says

Minju turned her head to Hyunjin. She didn't see Hyujin's confess at all.

"Hyujin. I---"

"I'm not asking for a label right now. I just want you to know that nobody else even comes close to you." Hyunjin says.

Hyunjin's words were just background noise to Minju. All she could think about was why Chaewon left so suddenly.

Hyunjin keeps on continuing his affection words to Minju. She couldn't care less about what Hyunjin was saying-she was too busy worrying about Chaewon.

"Hyunjin, Excuse me."

Minju walk away.
