I had never been so livid. How in the world is this happening? Didn't thousands of people (including Prim, Finnick, and Boggs) die for the exact opposite of this! and only 15 years ago! 15 years, that means probably 2 presidents have passed. I haven't left 12 since I moved back 15 years ago, and we don't get told when the president changes, only the people in the Capitol do.
What kind of jerk could the new president be? I had always known that there will still people living who wanted the old ways back. I just never thought that one could be elected as president. I can't let this happen! I can't let all those people's deaths be for nothing! I'm going to need to go to the Capitol, and stop this from happening.
Peeta needs to come. I'll just mess everything up if I go by myself. The kids can stay with Haymitch. We have to leave tonight.
"Peeta? hun? Can I talk to you?" He walks in, "Lemme guess. We're headed to the Capitol tonight." He knows me too well. "What else are we suppose to do!?" I cried, "You don't want to just let everyone go back to the old ways, do you!?"
He sighed and sat down on the bed. "Katniss, don't be ridiculous. Of course, I'm not going to sit back and let this happen. But we we're not suppose to ever go back to the Capitol, and us going in, defying the president once again, will probably start another war. You still don't know the effect you can have."
He was right. There was an unspoken rule between us and the Capitol that we would never go back. He was right that this could start another war. But desperate times call for desperate messures.
"I'm doing this either way. There is no other choice, what so ever. She is NOT having her name in that bowl. You said you'd be with me through it all. Real or not real?"
He frowned at my failed attempt to lighten the mood with the old memory."Fine, you know what, Katniss? Fine. It's just starting to feel like deja vu. You going into the Capitol with no plan, to defy the president." What was that suppose to mean? 15 years of marridge and I still don't understand all of his comments.
"I'm gonna go pack." I mumble as I rush out of the room. Sadly, I know I am going to have to submit to him, and realize that this probably isn't a good idea. I guess we should at least make a plan. So I run over to Haymitch's house.
