Utahime's P.O.V

"What the -?" Hime mumbled when she felt something cold fall onto her hand. She looked up and saw little snow flurries drifting down from the sky. How odd... Suddenly, the snow began to come down even harder, like a blizzard. She quickly stood up from the porch and entered the small building that had been nearby with seven others. If I knew this was going to happen, I would have packed warmer clothes.

After a while, a boy named Tai with goggles on top of his fluffy brown hair opened the door to see if it had stopped snowing. Glancing around him, Hime saw everything covered in a thick blanket of snow. A small smile tugged at her lips at the sight. "Guess the canoe races are cancelled," Tai said before grinning, walking out the door, "So let's have toboggan races instead!"

A little boy with blonde hair and blue eyes called T.K. followed after him, laughing. "I'm gonna build the biggest snowman."

"Hey, T.K., be careful!" T.K.'s older brother who shared the same hair and eye color, Matt raced after him. "Slow down."

The next person to go to the door was a girl with short brown hair and brown eyes named Sora. She folded her arms over her chest and rubbed her pink gloves over her arms in hope of warming them up. "Brrr....It's freezing. And I didn't bring a jacket."

Utahime stood up, her long red hair fluttering around her as she moved towards the door with a boy she knew as Joe following after her. Joe looked over her shoulder and sighed, "Man, I was worried I'd catch a summer cold, but this is even worse."

Giggling, Hime smiled at Joe. "I'm sure you'll be okay, Joe. They'll probably be sending us home now because of this."

Joe nodded in agreement, "Yeah, you're probably right." The only other girl in the group, Mimi, joined the two. Joe and Hime stepped aside so that she could go past them.

"Wow," Mimi gasped at the sight. "Why didn't I pack my fluffy pink snow boots?"

Hime smiled once more as she stepped off the porch with Mimi and Joe. "Yeah, I should have packed warmer clothes myself," she said glancing down at her short white kimono styled dress with a dark purple sash. Her black leggings underneath the dress were barely keeping her legs warm.

Mimi turned to Hime and also glanced at her clothes, "But you look so cute though!"Blushing slightly, Hime thanked her for the compliment.

Hearing someone gasp, Hime turned away from Mimi only to notice that the sky was showing a beautiful display of colorful lights. It looks just like the Aurora Borealis I saw once with my family on that trip we took to Finland.

"It's beautiful," Mimi said, "Magical even."

"Yeah...but what is it?" Izzy, a short boy with brownish red hair and dark eyes, questioned.

"Maybe an aurora?" Sora guessed, not taking her eyes off the lights.

"You mean Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights?" Izzy inquired. "That's impossible. You see that in Alaska. We're way too far south."

Hime flicked her eyes over towards Izzy. "What about the Aurora Australis?"

"Huh?" he looked over at her in surprise. "The Southern Lights? Then we'd be too far north."

"I really think we ought to get back inside before we all come down with pneumonia," Joe told everyone, worried about getting sick.

Matt rolled his eyes, "And miss this? The sky is, like, short-circuiting."

Hime paid little a attention to them as she narrowed her indigo colored eyes at the sky. It was starting to act even stranger than it already was. A weird green swirl appeared above them and several bright lights shot out from it, heading straight towards them. Her eyes widened and her body tensed. Before she had a chance to jump out of the way, the little lights crashed down around her and the rest causing the snow to fly all around them. When the snow settled, Hime took her arms away from her head and looked around to make sure everyone was okay.
