|| This short story was inspired by a conversation between other TF writer friends. One of them posted that magnet above, and we started theorizing for fun. This story has elements of the conversation implemented. ||

It was 3 am and your stomach grumbled. You sighed while stepping out of bed and headed to the kitchen. In the dark, you walked over to where the fridge was. Reaching out to grab the door handle your hand clasped on air. Confused, you put your arms out around the space realizing the fridge was not there.

You hear a noise in the other room.

"It's probably my cat." You thought, but still decided to investigate the noise. Anyways, you were still hungry.

As you stepped into the room, you thought you saw a large mass in the darkness. You blinked, thinking it was just a trick your eyes were playing on you. Of course it was gone, but then you heard a slight scratching noise.

"Mid-" You started to call out your cat's name, but froze in shock as you spotted a seven foot tall mass with glowing orange eyes on the other side of the room. The thing noticed you and shifted its gaze in your direction.

"Scrap" you panicked, "If only I had a gun, a flamethrower, or-" you reached out to the side and grabbed a bat that was lying against the wall. "This will have to do." You held it up in defense.

The thing came closer, too close. You swung the bat as hard as you could at the orange eyes. A loud clang resounded as you felt the bat bounce off something causing you to stumble back.

"Ow" a robotic voice growled.

"W-who are you!" You shouted, but suddenly the lights in the room turned on. You cringed at the harsh light, your eyes trying to adjust. You saw your sister standing in the room, her hand on the lightswitch.

"Y/n what the heck are you doing? Were you sleepwalking again?" She exclaimed, looking at the bat in your hands.

"I-" you started,

"Why is the fridge in here?" She interrupted.

Confused, you looked to where you had hit the thing. Your fridge stood there. "What in the-"

"Just hurry up and get back to bed, it's late." Your sister turned the lights back off and left.

In the dark you rubbed your forehead, "Maybe it all was just a hallucination, but I was sure I hit something.." You questioned yourself. Suddenly you heard the sound of shifting gears and pistons by you. Spinning around to face the noise you were met with the orange eyes again.

"AH! Stay Back!" You shouted, swinging the bat at it again.

It grabbed the bat and held it out. "Hey, stop trying to hit me with that, fleshy," It said.

You frantically released the bat and ran over to the wall where the lightswitch was. Fumbling along the space on the wall, you finally hit the switch revealing the creature. It was a robot that seemed to resemble a fridge- "Wait, was that the Decepticon magnet I put on our fridge yesterday?" You realized, spotting it on the cybertronain's chassis.

The cybertronian noticed you were looking at the magnet and grinned, "Yes, I am a Decepticon and your magnet suits me well. Ever since I got this alt form I haven't received an insignia due to being seperated from my group and stuck here serving as food storage. I really regret choosing this form." He shifted and you heard the food contents clatter around inside his compartment.

You tried to collect yourself, "So, a fellow 'con. Also, you seriously scared me earlier."

"It made our meeting all the more fun. Don't you agree?" He hummed.

You rolled your eyes, "Why did you not choose to reveal yourself earlier?"

"I have my reasons"

"Wow, so you're gonna be all brief and short with me, huh?"

The cybertronian nodded.

"Well what's your name? Every Decepticon has one y'know." You pointed out.

"Star- Fridgescream." The 'con blurted out.

"Wait, what?"

"I'm just teasing, it's D9-001"

"That's pretty lame, I'm just going to call you Deceptifridge."

"Don't even dare to call me that!" He hissed back.

You smirked, "Well I'm going to call you Deceptifridge and you can't stop me."

"You fleshies with your stupid nicknames" He murmured.

Your stomach grumbled. "Right, I came down here to get food, but the fridge ran off on me." you complained mockingly.

Deceptifridge snorted "You really think I'd be that nice to you?"

You stared back.

After a moment he sighed, "Fine." Opening the doors on his chassis, he went through his inventory until finally pulling out a sandwich. You snatched it and started eating.

After you took your last bite you spoke, "Well it's late and I need to get more rest."

"So you're leaving me already?"

"Well first you need to go back to the kitchen where you belong."

"Right right" He acknowledged and stumbled on a chair, causing a fridge door to swing open and a container fall out spilling food on the floor.

"My leftovers from yesterday were in there.."

Deceptifridge shrugged.

You quickly cleaned the mess up and oversaw the fridge going back in its proper place. Yawning, you turned off the lights and headed back to bed. What a night that was.

....

In the morning you wondered if everything had been a dream. Walking over to the fridge you tapped the decepticon magnet. The fridge's cooling system kicked in with a hum almost in response. You shrugged thinking it was just a coincidence, or was it?
