Leo's beautiful caramel eyes met mine, and I couldn't help but notice how they had pretty red specks in them. They sparkled lightly as he took a deep breath and prepared to answer me.
"Yes, I have, looks are very deceiving," he said slowly, and I almost couldn't believe him.
"Why?"
"We do what we have to to survive, you'll learn that through out your time here."
"So you kill innocent kids to... survive?" I asked, my voice breaking.
"It's not as simple as you're making it out to be, there's a lot more to this."
"I'm not killing anyone."
"What's the matter? You've already done it before, or you wouldn't be here... you'll die quickly if you don't kill," he said calmly. His words were harsh, but his tone was soft, and I couldn't tell what his opinion on the situation was. I couldn't figure out how to answer.
"She didn't murder anyone," Haruto spoke, speaking for the first time since coming to take me away from the boy's dead body.
I looked down at the boy, his hair fell into waves, covering his face. It was a dark pink color, but I could see his light brown roots peeking out of his head slightly. I had to wonder what parent let their young son dye his hair such a stand-out color.
"What are you talking about?" I heard Leo ask quietly.
"She's innocent," my brother said, resting a hand on my left shoulder.
"She can't be..."
"Well she is! I was the one who killed Mom and Dad, not her. She shouldn't even be here."
Hot tears left my eyes and fell onto the boy's head, I looked up at my brother, still crying. He was glaring at Leo, and tightened his grip on my shoulder. Leo looked very confused, like he couldn't comprehend what Haruto was saying... frankly, I didn't blame him, I couldn't believe my brother's words either.
"You're the siblings, Aimi and Haruto, right?"
"How would you know that?" Haruto answered defensively.
"I know everyone in this room, you ten were the ones I picked out."
"Are you saying that each of you picked a number of kids to die for your entertainment?"
"Does that mean you know him?" I asked, holding the boy in my arms a little higher, and wiping away my tears.
"Not everyone picked out kids... Pisces, Virgo, Gemini, Libra, and I were chosen to pick you guys out. There are even classes, each with a different amount of kids; the last class is made up of one each of our picks," Leo explained, ignoring my question.
Haruto frowned, took his hand off of my shoulder, and balled his hands, "You chose 11 children to come here and die?"
"Some of you might make it," was the quiet reply.
"Do you know who this is?" I asked again, growing annoyed.
They both ignored me, and Haruto spat out angrily, "We might? You brought us here to kill!"
"It's not impossible to survive this."
"If we make it, we'll be murderers!"
"Would you rather be dead? Or locked up? Because that's what would happen if we had just left you."
"We'll just die here."
"We're giving you another chance at life."
"I don't know what sick and twisted world you come from, but you're taking away our life, not giving us one," Haruto said coldly.
