"How long has it been?" Lucia asked herself lookings a small circle drawn in the sand. It had seemed like years when in actuality it was days. "What could go wrong if I just tryed one more time..." That was about when she had the strange feeling again, a weird twisting and knitting in her stomach. Had her depressed state always felt that way, could she even remember? No, she had given up on fighting, what use was a unwinable war after all. At least she had found her way out of the storm. The horizon had shown, but she could feel the cruel grip of that undertoad pulling her back. Was that shore ever even attainable, or was that brief moment on the shore just a lure for her to lust more after the calm? She'd never know, but instead of swimming she ducked her head under the waves. She watched the fish around the reef below. They were so beautiful, with their colored patterns and different shapes. A few swamp over trying to encourage Lucia, but she just smiled, finally she could rest knowing that not all life had to bear was the cruel grey of a maelstrom.
