The sun was shining on my face and I could hear birds singing as I woke up in my bed. I wasn't used to sun in the morning so that it was a new experience.

I felt good, maybe because of a great morning and with a big smile I sat up on my bed , looked around my room and looked out of the window. It was quite strange saying "my" to all this things I saw the first time, but I felt like I was living for ages in that house. After a long time I couldn't hear anybody argue or cry in the morning, it was peaceful . My room was quite big and bright. And i was so happy that my mum took the smaller room although I felt a little sorry for her.The last night was so long and the car trip just tiring. After my nightmare I thought I wouldn't manage to fall asleep again, but I was so exhausted that I could.

I stood up and went downstairs to greet my mum in the kitchen. She made us breakfast and she seemed a lot happier . As i entered the kitchen , she noticed my good mood and said:"Hey love, how are you ? How was your first night in london?" I saw her amazing smile, which I missed a lot and answered:" It couldn't be better." I loved how happy my answer made her and I decided to explore my neighbourhood after the breakfast.

"Mum! I'm going out!", I yelled as I left the house. I didn't really care how I looked , because nobody knew me there, so i just knotted my hair in a messy bun and wore an oversized striped t-shirt.

I stepped out on the street and saw a lot of similar houses, next to eachother. The street was full of life, people talking, kids arguing, and what I found quite amusing was how a girl told her little brother to "shut up!".It was in an thick english accent.I almost bursted out laughing.

I saw some older people walking their dogs. They smiled at me although that was probably the first time they saw me and some greeted me too. As they did I could hear their accents, which sound totally new to me and I didn't want them to hear my way of pronouncing words,so I tried to imitate theirs . At first it probably sounded weird, but then I figured it out by hearing it a few times. I enjoyed that nobody knew me, it was all so exciting. I took a walk and thought about my future in london. "I think im gonna like it here" ,I told mysef.

But there was still one thing that was stuck in my mind. My first school day would be in some days.Would my classmates accept me? Will they laugh about my american accent? My stomach tightened as I was asking myself all these questions and a few more. "Oh I can't do that!",I thought.

"That is going to be terrible, they'll hate you!",my good mood was gone. I walked down the street as out of nowhere it started raining. All the people on the street ran home , escaping the rain.

I continued walking, not caring about being in the rain."I'm going to manage school somehow" I thought and I felt.my positive mood coming back again. I was really moody, that's what I got told a lot. The rain nearly stopped, when I came home from my walk. "How was your walk?",mum asked. "Typical British",I said trying to sound as british as I could.
