The Life Saver

Maka's POV~ I just got out of the grocery store holding these bags of groceries filled with fruits. I don't know why did I bought so many apples this time, they're bloody red and the others are light green. Well, Soul loves green apples, I bought these for him, because I don't know how am I going to face him after what happened last night, I have to apologize, so what about apologize to him by offering his favorite fruit, that would be kinda nice.

As I walk, I noticed more trucks came in to this road, you know there are many careless kids around here.

I was about to cross the street but the sign said: Don't Walk. I always got stuck in this one. I checked the time, it is already 4:00 in the afternoon. But I've gotta be in the Academy this 4.

I waited impatiently while tapping my feet and repeatedly saying "come on". As the trucks go on, I heard someone screamed. I looked around and finally saw a little girl running across the street, and a.... truck!! I dropped my groceries and ran as fast as I could. The little girl stopped in the middle.

Shit! she's a dumbass!

"SOMEBODY SAVE MY BABY!!!!!!!!" Her mother screamed.

"MOVE KID!!!" I exclaimed to the girl, running towards her.

Right before the truck, I caught the kid, hugging her to protect her and I let out three scythe blades from my arm for guard. Perfect timing, my blades stopped the engine, but the truck is still moving, dragging us forward as my knees are already in pain and suddenly the truck stopped. No one got hurt, except for me. I got nosebleeds, wounds on my arm, and scratches on my knees.

This reminds me how Soul protected me from Chrona's blade.

The girl ran to her mother, I stayed there panting. 'I just saved someone's life' I thought to myself. I laid there, still panting. And in all of a sudden, I felt someone's helping me up. I looked up to get a clearer veiw, I realized, Its was Dr. Stein, Liz and Kid.

I smiled to myself.

"You almost gotten yourself killed by saving a little girl, Maka" Liz said as she helped me up. "I-I'm just g-glad she's s-safe" I replied with a trembling voice since I got dizzy and my wounds and scratches are bleeding hard, but I can still see so many people surrounding the scene. All I know that they already took me into the infirmary of the Academy.

Liz's POV~ Shopping with Kid and Dr. Stein is off the hook! I just got my new pair of sandals, a new dress for Patty, a jeans for me, A pair of gold earrings and etc. etc. etc. This is the best day ever.

We were passing the mostly accident prone area road here in Death City. And suddenly, Dr. Stein stopped and turmed his screw five times then it clicked. "What is it Professor?" Kid asked and we stop to turn to Dr. Stein. "Maka" he replied." What about her?" I asked. "She needs us".

Once he uttered those words, we suddenly heard screaming and a crash. We all followed the noise, our results was seeing a little girl running towards her mom and a lady, kneeling and panting.

I already noticed it was Maka!

The three of us ran to her and she laid there like an exhausted dog with a small blood puddle.

We helped her up, her knees are quite ttembling. I don't care if her blood stains my favorite outfit, what matters now is her. She must have been dragged forward while kneeling. "You almost gotten yourself killed by saving a little girl, Maka" I said very concern about her. Her right eye is kinda drowsy while the other, fine."I-I'm just g-glad she's s-safe" she replied with a trembling voice. So many people came to look at the incident, and I saw Kid is talking to someone at the phone.

Dr. Stein, Me and Kid took her to the School's infirmary since it's near. Nurse Nygus was already there, waiting for us.

Soul's POV~ "Maka!? Accident!?" I exclaimed and suddenly dropped the phone.

This is not happening to my Maka.

I went outside, grab my motorcycle, roaring it to life and drove to the scene where it happened. I checked but they're not here. I already saw the small blood puddle. Is that Maka's? I questioned myself. Did she got hit by the truck? I questioned myself again. And then, I heard a crying kid and her mother was being interviewed.

"What happened here?" I asked one of the witness since I don't really know what happened.

"What happened? Oh yeah, the little kid ran on the middle of the road and a lady, some kind of a DWMA Student I guess, ran after her and saved the kid's butt. Well after that, one 'screw' dude, a long-haired lady and the Death City V.I.P came to help her up. There was blood everywhere man!" The witness explained. "Thanks for the info!"

I went back to my motorcycle and drove upstairs to the DWMA. I parked it somewhere in front and ran to the infirmary. Once I entered...

"Soul! I thought you can't make it!" Kid said looking at my outfit. With the smug face of anger+disappointment. "What?" I asked. "Your Outfit, they're not symmetrical" There he goes again "I told you a while ago to wear a symmetrical clothes!!!" Same old Kid.

I heard a small giggle after what Kid said. It was Maka. I came closer, but she turned away from. "Is this about last night? If this is about last night, it's ok, you don't have to apologize" then she looked at me with those eyes, those beautiful glossy emerald green eyes. And in all of a sudden, she hugged me. Wha? "I'm sorry!!" She said. "I said it's ok no-" before I could finish my sentence, she said something "I'm sorry I dropped your green apples" that's it? She's apologizing to me because she dropped her groceries? I laughed, Liz giggled silently and Kid was fixing the shelf in a symmetrical way.

"What's so funny?" She asked after the laugh subsided and she pulled away.

"Nothing" Liz said while filling her nails with Nail polish.

Maka's POV~ Nothing seems to be funny. And suddenly, the door opened revealing a small girl with a yellow-green hair and purple eyes in a small pink dress, followed by Tsubaki and Blackstar, it was Yuni, Tsubaki's cousin.

"Auntie Maka. Are you alright?" She calls me auntie Maka always even though she's not my neice or anything but I still like being called like that by a 13 years old dwarf even I'm already 17. "Yes I'm fine" I turned to Tsubaki "Do you really havE to bring her in here?" I asked.

"Well, she almost pulled us by the hair to drag us here. She really wanted to see you right now after the incident." This Yuni sometimes is a total pain in the butt. I can't help but almost Maka chopping her. Time skips. Nothing much happened after three hours. Patty came in with some drinks and chat. After that everyone went home. Except Soul and me. "It's already 7. Maybe you should go home" I said looking at the time.

"I'm your weapon Maka. It's the weapon's duty to protect his/her meister at any cost no matter what" I've been noticing something with this dude.

He's been getting kinda protective today. And sweet. Grr!! Confession to all you guys. I'm in love with my weapon since 'that' time and I don't know why. Everytime I caught him and Blair together, I don't use my book to Maka Chop at Soul, I use my foot. And as for Blair, I use my book. I don't do jealousies. "All right. Perhaps you can stay" I said.

And that night, was fun. We chat and played speed(cards) on my lap for hours until 10 in the night. I always win that game. And the last thing I remembered that night was when Soul fell asleep on the chair beside me, holding my hand.
