Childhood Memories [Sawamura Daichi X Reader]

"Daichi!!" I ran to the all-too-familiar raven haired boy on the swing.

"It's you! (Y/N)!!!!!" The boy smiled and jumped off of the swing. He ran to me and hugged me.

"I miss you so bad!!" He grinned and hug me tighter. His small arms are around my shoulders.

"I miss you too, Daichi!!" I grinned back at him and hug him back with all of the five-year-old girl's might.

"Let's go play the seesaw today!!" Daichi grabbed my hand and lead the way.

We both have seen each other since birth. Our mothers are bestfriends. That's why we're here to play often.

I can feel that the time passed by very quickly that the sun's now setting.

The sky is getting darker and darker every minute.

Everytime we get to play together, we don't want to leave each other.

But.... My mother said that today's the last I get to play with him.... We're leaving to America tomorrow.... How could I tell him this..?

"Daichi?" We're holding hands while we're walking to Daichi's home, where both of our mothers are.

"Hmm?" He just hummed.

"Daichi, today's the last day we get to play together.. I need to go to America with my parents..." Finally, I said it.

He looked so shock. He didn't say anything. He released my hand.

"(Y/N)... Remember this. You'll come back to Japan one day. And on that day, we'll get married and live together, okay?" He reached out his small pinky.

"Okay." I intertwined our fingers.

I'm back to Japan now. The first place I go to is Daichi's home. I miss him so bad. Will he still remember our promise??

"Hello, Sawamura-san! It's (Y/N)!!" I smiled as Mrs.Sawamura opened the door for me.

"Come in, you're here to see Daichi, right?" She smiled faintly.

I nodded my head.

"(Y/N).... Daichi's not here with us anymore.... He passed away on the car accident last year... But, he left this box for you before he died." She handed me the box.

I opened it and saw a beautiful diamond ring and a letter inside.

"(Y/N)....

As I promised you, this is our wedding ring.

If I'm not the one handing you this, it must be my mother, right?

Well, I have the another exact one on my finger right now.

I told my mom that if I die, please keep that ring in my finger.

The road trip tomorrow is quite dangerous from what I've heard. I just wrote this in case something happens to me.
