Chapter Four

My screams filled the air, and it began to crack.  Thought I was going to black out again for the second time tonight. All the hopes I had for tonight were murdered.

Blood…just blood. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Who- no how did someone get in my home and do this? I wanted to cry but, this damn blood just numbed it out. Maybe it was for the better. I smothered my face into Eric’s chest. He smelt kind of like an exotic country. I couldn’t tell you where, but it’s not anything you would smell in America. I was starting to become intoxicated by it. I inhaled a little deeper.

“Mhmmm, Sookie should I we take care of this…problem and then you? Eric whispered seductively in my ear.

“No mister!” I spoke after jumping out of his arms.

I got on my knees, and then began to cry. Why? I just don’t understand this person’s reason for all of this! Eric tried to comfort me. I snatched away. I didn’t feel much like being touched, even if it was by a sex god. What the hell? I’m over here thinking like a horny school girl with this image in front of me.

Eric just winked at me almost like he was in my head. Gosh! I hope not!

“My poor tabby girl! I didn’t even get to officially name her yet. I was waiting for her personality to come out! Damn whoever did this to hell!” I screamed.

I felt like throwing something heavy, but then I realized. Where is Gran!?! I hope they didn’t get Gran. I started to sob as I looked at my beautifully orange kitten now red with mangled hair.

I sprang up then…

I rushed upstairs...I looked in Gran’s room. There she was; sleeping peacefully. Not a care in the world.

I sighed with relief.

So, I’m guessing Gran didn’t hear anyone and didn’t know tabby girl died. So this BITCH (whoever that was) came in my house quiet as a mouse and killed my cat somehow without waking Gran.

That doesn’t make the slightest sense. Gran was such a light sleeper, and usually she stays awake and waits for me to come home safely. Something was defiantly off.

I softly walked downstairs trying to avoid the squeaky panels of wood.

I came down to see Eric looking at me in the living room from the couch.

“Now turn around and walk up the stairs my dear” he said smirking.

“Eric! Not now!”

“Oooh. So later then?” he said. Then when I looked his direction it seem as if he was about to burst with laughter.

“Eric this is not funny! Someone broke in my house and killed my poor innocent kitten! Who would do such a thing?”

“I have the slightest clue. I picked up the messed and buried her respectfully in the back of the house. I hope that’s good enough. If not…then.” He trailed off. Obviously he thought it was foolish for me to be upset.

“Thank you.” I said trying to be polite; even though I was pissed about everything that happened tonight. Nothing was going remotely in a good direction.

Eric walked over to me when I was off guard and grabbed my hand to kiss it lightly. It felt like the most graceful snowflake falling upon my skin. I couldn’t help to close my eyes and enjoy this silently beautiful moment.

“I must leave its going to be sunrise in an hour. I will see you tomorrow night.”

When, I opened my eyes he was gone. I felt a tad empty at the moment. I walked to the kitchen and it sparkled. You would never had been able to tell someone murder my kitten in here tonight.

I turned back around to walk up stairs to my room. I was exhausted by everything tonight. “I hope this all doesn’t become a tradition” I muttered to myself.

I walked into the bathroom to shed my tattered clothing. I then turned the nobs so the bathroom would get nice and steamy. I stepped into the heated rain. It felt extremely exuberant against my worn skin. I reached for my sponge to grab it. Put I felt someone to start washing me with it instead.

I turned and at my disbelief it was Eric. I smiled.

“I’m glad you’re here.” I whispered loud enough for him to hear.

“I’m glad to be here.” He then took his calm face into his devilishly handsome smile.

Eric continued to rub my barren body until it was sparkling under the drops of liquid. I felt the yearning for him in every way all over me…even in my soul. My body got heated and he responded; finally picked me up from the ground and pressed me against the tile so gently that I didn’t even notice it.

“Be tender…I’m new to this.” I spoke in undertones.

“I will be lover but first…wake up Sookie.”

“Huh?” I said.

Then I opened my eyes.

The fact that it was a dream is very unfortunate. Explains why it seemed so whimsical. I still don’t understand. The dream was so vivid. When he touched me it felt like soft petals falling against my skin. I’ve never experienced a dream like that before.

I shook my head and looked at the clock. It was about two hours from sunrise. That dream took up most of my day.

I got out of my bed and I looked down to see that I went to be disgusting. I must have been out of it. I walked to the bathroom to shower. This time there is no Eric.

I finished and dried my hair, and curled it to my satisfaction. After that I then put on some light make up. I was relieved to find out that Sam had called to say I didn’t have to work because it was a slower day and Arlene needed the hours more because she had a family. I actually watched her two children every now and then; extremely sweet kids.

I went to my closet and picked out my light blue sundress covered in small white polka dots. It was super soft.

Maybe because it was cotton…then I suddenly began to sing “The touch….The feel of cotton. The fabric of our lives.” Damn commercials and their catchy songs.

I slipped on my white Toms and walked down the stairs to see Gran cooking. She was always cooking something.

“So Gran…I’m sure you noticed tabby girl went… Uhhh (I had to think) MISSING! Yup…that’s it. Eric and I looked practically everywhere for her. I’m sure she will come back though.” I sighed after speaking.

“Awe that’s too bad dear, but I’m sure your right. She will come home to us. What I want to discuss is who this Eric you speak of is?” then she smiled to conclude everything.

“Oh. Eric is this vampire I met at Merlotte’s a couple nights ago. I think you would absolutely love him! Maybe, I can bring him later tonight for you to meet him.” I stopped speaking because my doorbell rang.

"How odd. I'm not expecting any company." Gran said.
