Chapter 12

"Sky what the-" he looks down at the opened box in his hands in awe. We woke up earlier than usual this morning as I was practically jumping on him with excitement. I got dressed quickly and raced down the steps to the Christmas tree. He trailed behind me lazily, sitting next to me on the floor and looking at me in suspicion as I eagerly hand him the one present I got him.

"How did you-" he can't even finish his sentence as he pulls out the white Canon EOS 100D camera. I know all about his passion for photography and I couldn't resist. It's a seventy-eight thousand dollar camera but with Zoey's hookup with her photography company it was doable.

"Sky this camera doesn't come out for months..." He whispers with a huge smile gracing his tired features. "Is this real?" He's still in shock and I just sit there smiling wide, nodding at his question. Without a word he pulls me into his arms tightly, giggles escaping my lips as he squeezes me. "Thank you thank you thank you," he rocks us back and forth on the floor.

"Okay open yours," he hands me a large box wrapped beautifully in white wrapping paper and a red bow. I almost feel bad for opening it but I do anyways, my heart swelling with its contents. The first thing that catches my eye is a Lush Christmas gift set, along with a Marc Jacobs watch and perfume, Tom Ford lipstick, three pairs of knee high socks, about ten candles, a paid trip for both of us to a spa(I can't wait to see that) and one of his large hoodies that I always tend to wear. Everything is so thoughtful and I immediately hug him as tight as possible.

"You like it?" Harry whispers and I smile up at him. "Of course it's perfect Harry." His smile is worth every moment we've ever gone through to get here. "Best Christmas ever," he whispers.

"Best Christmas ever," I kiss his lips.

Harry sends me to answer the door as he finishes up setting up the dinner table.

"Jim," I smile at the man standing in front of me before he embraces me in a hug. "It's lovely to see you Skylar. Looking beautiful as ever," I thank him and say hello to the shy ten year old next to him, Tommy.

"Tommy, this is Skylar, Harry's special friend. Skylar, my son Tommy." His small hand grasps mine in a kind shake as he smiles a toothy smile. "It's nice to finally meet you Tommy." The pair come in, hanging up their coats before following me into the dining room.

"Harry," Tommy shouts and runs into his arms, his small body lifted up into a hug quickly. Jim takes a seat at the table as I sit opposite of him so he can sit by his son but Harry can sit in front of him.

"This meal looks fantastic Harry," Jim smiles at a blushing Harry as he takes a seat next to me, immediately placing a hand on my knee. I blush at the small action, loving the little things Harry takes joy in doing. "Thanks Jim, enjoy," we pick up our forks to begin our Italian style meal while Harry asks Tommy different questions.

"How has soccer been bud?" Tommy shrugs but Jim goes into a story of his last game, where he scored the winning goal. "Tommy that's awesome," Harry praises the shy child, knowing that it means the world when you say these things to people who obviously look up to you.

Conversation never really ceased as Jim and Harry talked all about anything and everything. It was really amazing, seeing Harry so happy, talking to his family again. You can see the love in his eyes as the reminisce about Harry's mother, and his grandparents. I hear a lot of cute stories about Harry's childhood, stories that could fool you into thinking he grew up flawlessly if you didn't already know the truth. The truth was that Harry's life was pained, and he was broken, but I promised myself that I would put his pieces back together again even if I got cut along the way.
