"I-I don't want you to relapse again." He says, looking down at the ground. He lets out a shaky breath and tears form in his eyes. He quickly wipes them away and turns so he doesn't face me.

I didn't mean to make him cry.

I rub the dark circles under my eyes and let out a silent yawn, leaning back in the chair. I sigh angrily at the fact that he's crying, even though I feel a form of sympathy for him. I don't think he understands. No one understands.

Some people can't change.

"I love you, so much, Cass. And I won't let that happen again." He stares up at me, his facial expression stern and serious. His eyes dart aside, leaving me to look at his motionless face waiting for another comment he wanted to add.

Silence fills the room, creating awkwardness and tension between us.

I finally release the silence and answer. "Some people don't change."

Then I walk out the door, leaving him in a void of sadness and confusion.
