"Welcome to Katy's. How are you guys doing today? I'm Haley. Can I start ya off with something to drink?" her words slid out gracefully like butter, and I was reminded of her strong accent. She was too busy fumbling with her apron to offer us the pleasure of eye contact.

I couldn't believe she was here! Right here, right now.

She was wearing denim shorts now, and a t-shirt that read 'Katy's'. She had put a little more make-up on, and changed her shoes into sneakers. She took a pen and pad of paper out of her half-apron and gazed at Joe expectantly with those dark brown eyes.

"I'll take a coke-and uh- a cheeseburger. No onions." Joe shot her that smile he always does, the one that oozes cool.

She rolled her eyes, disinterested, and moved to Brad next. "What can I get ya?" she asked him

"I'll have the same thing as him" Brad gestured towards Joe. I watched intently as she scribbled the order on her pad.

She had yet to look up from her pad, but continued to speak to the guys. "And for you?" she said to Joey.

"I'll have a hot dog with mustard. And a Miller Light." Joey answered.

Tom was next, and she didn't even have to say anything before he started rattling off his order. "I'll have a rootbeer, an order of fries, and a chicken sandwich."

Now I was getting nervous, because I was next. I watched her lower lip, since she was biting at it. She scribbled the order down and, since I didn't offer my order yet, she looked up to meet my eyes.

"Oh-uh- What can I get you?" she stuttered, but didn't offer the slightest inclination that we had met just a few short hours ago-An okay sign. The stuttering means I made her nervous, which was a hell of a lot better then no reaction at all.

"I'll have a burger and a heineken." I was sweet and to the point, just like her.

"Thanks boys." the words danced on her tongue, and somehow she made them sound so much sexier then they really were. My mind went wild with all kinds of thoughts. She looked up from her pad again and met my eyes, which I still hadn't taken off of her.

"It'll be right out." she said directly to me, then turned on her heel and left rather quickly.

What was it about this girl? She was gorgeous, fucking hot as hell! I'd give her that, but why couldn't I stay away? I've seen plenty of hot women before, but none of them have captured my interest quite like her. All I could think was-

"Oh fuck she's hot." Joey said, and my eyes flicked to meet his.

"Hell yeah she is." said Tom in agreement.

Oh shit. Now I had to spill the beans. If I didn't now, the guys would most definitely try to beat me to asking her on a date.

"Well too bad you stupid fucks, I saw her first." said Joe.

"Actually I did. Last night." I interrupted.

This must have stunned the guys into silence, because they all stared at me with an incredulous look on their faces.

"What the hell do you mean?" Brad asked.

"When Lynda came and dropped my shit off last night, she was with her." I tried to give the least bit of information possible, but made sure they knew I was staking a claim.

"Oh so that's her name! No wonder you wouldn't say anything." Joe chuckled and then tossed a peanut at my head. I dodged right, and the peanut nearly skimmed my ear.

"She sure didn't act like she ever met you before." Tom said from across the table. The guys all snickered at each other, and I was getting annoyed. I couldn't think of anything good to come back with.
