4:00am, Morley
I crept out of my room, making sure I make no sound so I don't awaken my little sister Giselle and my mother. Maralynn, my sister, still wasn't home, she was probably out partying until she drops dead. I barely see her sober. In the living room I hear a phone call. It rang and rang but no one picked up. Before I even got to the phone, the person at the other end ended the call.
I checked the caller ID. It was Maralynn. I called back.
"Hello?" No one picked up.
It was always this way.Riley
It was a dry dull morning. I dragged myself to school, my motivation dropping everyday. I was tired as hell, knowing my habit of being distracted in the night. Some nights there were too many thoughts and other nights I felt blank and just bored. Bored enough to have energy, and energetic enough to stay awake.
The air was crisp and cold, and I walked to my highschool after dropping off my little brother.
I take out my phone and look at the Playlist for my music. It was empty.Morley
I had a huge headache, not knowing if I was sober. I felt all shaky and unstable. I fell on my way to school, dropping my messy binder along with all the shit I have in my bag. Left some things for the hell of it. I didn't care.Riley
"What the hell?"
I saw Morley's face all red and he looked like he was close to just fainting right in the spot. I shouldn't care, it was his fault. Clearly he wasn't in the right mind, he smelled like beer as soon as he passed by me. Don't ask how I know. I never drank but I've been to family gatherings and I know what it looks like when someone is drunk.
"Hey, what's up? You look, slightly high." I point out, clearly annoying him. I expected him to get irratated.
"Everything is shit." Morley retorted, once again sleeping on his desk.
"Riley!" Diana called out. She waved and beckoned me to sit next to her in class. I was tempted but Mr.Pierce wouldn't allow it because me and Diana talk endlessly.
"Today's the test of Chapter 17 in your textbooks." Mr.Pierce announced, handing out the sheets and explaining the rules. I ignored everything because I already knew. To be frank, I did study this time, so I don't lose my A, something that sort of matters in my household. I look over at Morley and I see how hopeless he looks. He probably didn't know there was a test, or at this moment; where he even is.
When the test was over, I looked at his paper because Mr.Pierce decided to show the whole class what a F mark looks like.He just drew a demon. He was actually not too bad at art.
Let me reword that.
Really good.Drunk people are fun to watch.
