~Tonoko's P.O.V.~
'What just happened?' I deadpanned.
I wasn't sure wether or not to be happy that I may or may not have been allowed an exit to this place I had lived in all my life, or upset that there are most likely dangers out there. It never occured to me before now that I may not be the only living thing out there. To be honest I never thought I would escape. I'd always wished for it, but now I'm not so sure. I was leaving the only home I've ever had... Would I miss it? Would I ever be able to come back? I brushed off those thoughts as I carefully stepped out of the shadows and into the light.
Before my entire body was even free of the darkness, I squeezed my eyes shut tightly. I had never seen light before, and it was blinding! Blinking rapidly and trying to adjust my eyes to the new shade, I carefully looked around me as the pain eased and faded away. It was beautiful! I was surrounded by tall objects that had odd looking green things on the ends of each limb. Not all of them looked the same though, in fact every one was different. Everything is so baffling and extraordinary!
'What are these!? They're gorgeous!'
Instead of cold, rough ground beneath my feet, I was standing on soft, cushy brown dust and what looked like little green fur. A crisp, fresh breeze flowed through my fur, rejuvenating my energy. I looked back to the newly made cavity leading to my old domain to see piles of stone resting on both ends and atop the ledge overshadowing the hole.
I lifted my eyes to the sky above me, half expecting it to be black. I was instead met with a brilliant light blue while puffy white wisps sluggishly drifted across the sky, adding to the magnificence.
I giggled, indescribably ecstatic that I had finally accomplished my one goal I had been set upon my entire life. I darted through the tall, vertical things, enjoying the warmth and wind blowing through my fur. I halted beside a small dip in the earth that stretched a ways in both directions. I sniffed the liquid filling it and quickly identified it as the same thing as before. I smiled gleefully and jumped into the water. Splashing around, I froze as I noticed small silver things swimming between my legs. I curiously leaned closer to the water to inspect them. They didn't seem harmful...
'Are they edible?' I thought as my stomach grumbles in hunger.I shrugged my thick shoulders and splashed my face into the water, attempting to catch one, only to resurface with nothing. I huffed, annoyed at my failure. Wading through the cool water, I made my way onto land. I shook out my fur which scattered little droplets of moisture all around me. Crouching beside the waters edge, I waited patiently for one of the scaly animals to swim closer.
~Third P.O.V.~
When one of the fish swam close enough to Tonoko, he darted his paw into the water and snatched one on his claw. He dragged it onto the land and stared at it with curious eyes as it flopped hopelessly on the hard ground. He decided to take a chance and waited for its life to pass before biting into the raw meat. The blue tiger's green eyes widened drastically before he even finished his mouthful. He chewed and swallowed the new found delicious food and lowered his head for another bite.
After finishing his meal and thanking it for its life, he rose to his paws and waded back into the stream to catch another.
-Time Skip-
The sun had made its way across the sky and was soon to be setting. Tonoko, now full bellied, lie on the soft grass in a hollow of trees not far from his stream. His bright green eyes glowed as they gazed in wonder at the thousands of stars above him.
'How stunning...' He thought to himself, 'I wonder what they are...'His eyes fluttered shut, exhausted from his long and excitement filled day. As the blue-furred big cat turned on his side, he was unsuspecting of a pair of eyes watching him closely from the tree canopy.
