This is a long one, for all of you who were waiting for an update. Also, most of the setting is in the pic enclosed above.
(This is the same day, but at different times.)
April's P.o.v.
After May and I had parted, I headed to homeroom, only to be directed towards the student council. The council can be so uptight, so it was my job as president to help them relax a little.
I walked into the meticulously spotless room, and walked over to the hazard zone of my desk, the only messy place there was. Mountains of papers were sliding against each other, and files were overflowing onto the floor. Ah, I forgot. It's been a while since I've been here. The punishment of being a good sister... I sighed in resignation as I sat down at the desk, lazily signing some papers, stamping the others, or just plain rejecting some things. I mean, why would the origami club need an expansion? It's paper! I'll just have to check that out later.
One of the council members came in, and stood gaping inside the doorway. He dropped what he was holding, turned, and ran for it. Gotta say, that kinda hurt. As I scribbled something down on a note, I heard the thundering sound of feet in the hallway. I looked up out of curiosity, only to see the rest of the council members crammed into the doorway, gawking as if I'd just come home after 10 years or something.I cleared my throat in annoyance, silently reminding them that it was rude to stare. Wrong move on my part, though. They rushed me, their shock done and over with.
"PRESIDENT, YOU'RE FINALLY HERE!!!" Ivana, the vise president was weeping tears of joy. She sniffled a little, refusing to accept that she had a runny nose. "I thought....you....left me!" She said in between sobs.
"I didn't leave anyone, alright. May just got suspended....again."
"Oh, May got suspended. So it's her fault that you left all of this work undone," she said accusingly. I sighed.
"No, I just didn't feel like coming to the office. Leave my sister out of this, please."
"Okay. Now! Off to work!" And with that, the others slowly dispersed while mumbling about the unfairness. After a few hours of doing paperwork, I stretched my tired muscles. Checking to see if anyone was looking, I slowly walked out of the room.
When I was finally free of my fans, I dashed down the hall as quietly as I could. Navigating to the nearest exit, I burst into the crisp air of spring. Glancing to see if I had been spotted, I quickly walked to the forest on the school grounds, clutching my arms to retain the last vestiges of warmth that I had. After several long minutes of walking, I finally reached the wall of pines. Treading carefully on the blanket of pine needles, I closed my eyes and inhaled the smells of tree sap, evergreens, and the clear scent of clovers and water lilies.
Following my nose, I slowly tracked my way through the forest until I broke the cover of the prickly giants. Ever so slowly, I opened my eyes to see my favorite freshwater pond. With its crystal clear water and ferns surrounding it, you could almost see the pebbles on the bottom. I stripped my blazer, skirt, shoes and socks off before I dove into the pool. The water was cool at first before I adjusted. Taking in a big gulp of water, I blew streams of bubbles at the nearby fish.
I drifted along with current, watching as my hair turned a pale, shimmery blue to provide camouflage with the water surrounding me. I closed my eyes and sighed in content, taking in the peaceful thoughts of the life around me. Suddenly, a few fish darted around in alarm. My eyes flew open in time to catch a glimpse of a pair of hands breaking the waters surface. I sighed in relief that it wasn't a predator, until I felt that the plants were in pain, and were slowly suffocating.
