Song: I Love It - Icona Pop
Kobi's POVOur lips connect, mine soft and his a little rough from him biting them, and I feel so warm and happy. I won't say there were fireworks, not because there weren't but because that's too cheesy, but the way I was feeling could light up a room for years.
We respond to each other gently, savoring the moment, until he pulls away ever so softly.
"Wow," I whisper and I feel the shadow of a grin on his lips as they're leaning lightly on my cheek.
"Yeah," he whispers back, minty breath tickling my ear and making me giggle.
"L... Link?" I lean back to look at him and I get momentarily distracted by the dancing green and gold specks in his hazel gaze and by recalling the feeling and sound of his soft Irish accent.
"School?" He leans his forehead on mine and I can physically feel the fear radiating off of him.
"Yes," I look down and he lifts my chin up lightly and pecks me gently.
"You were right... It will be okay because... I have you and I know you'll always be my best friend," he grins and flushes underneath his freckled cheeks.
"Are you friendzoning me?" I pretend to frown.
"No! No Kobi! I really like you... More than like you amd that kiss and-"
"Relax Linky I'm just teasing!" I fall over in an absolutley unstoppable fit of giggles.
"Kooooobbiii," he lightly hits me on the arm.
Link's POV
I push the dread away and focus on Kobi who has curled his hand around my arm as if trying to protect me. What did I do to deserve someone so sweet? Well I guess there's nothing I really could have done that would have been great enough. He's so loving and accepting and I'm so glad that his my friend and maybe... More now?
"You alright Link?" He asks grinning up at me as we get a few smiles in the corridor. This is probably one of the things that I appreciate most about this little town; people are very caring and open.
"Actually... Yeah I'm alright," I hum a little as he reaches his hand down my arm to hold my hand.
"So are... Are we a um thing now?"
"A couple? I mean I'd really like to be," I tell him, feeling a little insecure.
"HELL YES!!" He screams and runs down the hallway to our lockers whooping and jumping and fist pumping the whole way there.
"Kobi honestly... It's like you're still five on the inside," I smirk and wrap my arms around his waist from behind and kiss the top of his head.
"I DON'T CARE I LOVE IT!!!" He sings oddly in tune for how loud he's singing, "Sing with me Link!"
"You know I don't like singing in public... Specifically not in school," I add and he frowns.
"But... But your beautiful voice and your Irish accent and," he pauses and shrugs, "I guess you singing voice is ALL MINE TO HEAR! ALL MINE!" He cackles and skips to his first class leaving me holding in a laugh for all that I'm worth.
"Heya Link," a voice sounds behind me sending shivers of violent fear down my spine, "Time to play again?"
