"Mom..." sierra said unsure if she should tell her mom what had happened that day.

  "Yes sierra?" Her mom replied.

"Um something unsual happened today in class..." Sierra said still unsure.

"What happened?" Her mother said more intrested.

"Well my teacher was asking questions about me and when she got to the qeustion about where I lived I told her and the whole class acted like I had just killed someone or something." Sierra said more confident.

Sierras mom turned very slowly and just stared at sierra for a moment.

"MOM WATCH OUT!" Sierras brother had yelled from the back both sierra and her mom whipped back to the road where a semi truck had sat.

Sierras mom quickly drove off the road.

"Mom what happened!" Sierra said in terror.

"How long have we been in the car?" Sierras mom asked looking at the wheel in terror and confusion.

"Mom you picked us from school." Sierra said even more terrified.

Sierras mom started backing up making sure no cars where coming.

And they started to drive by this time they were a mile away from the house no one talked the whole drive there.

Once they got in the drive way everyone got out of the car and walked quickly to the door.

Sierra ran up the stairs and into her room, but once she got in she was furious. Everything in her room was destroyed and all over the place.

"MOM!!!" Sierra yelled feeling madness swell inside of her.

Her mom ran into Sierras room wondering what the problem was but then, she saw.

"Im going to kill him!!!" Sierra screamed and ran to her brothers room.

Her brother knew she was mad and they ran around the room as though a tiger and a mouse.

Sierras mom came in and grabbed Sierra by her wrists. Sierra was still struggling to get her brother.

"I'm going to kill you! You little butt whipe!" Sierra screamed with fury.

  "Sierra!" Her mom yelled.

"I didn't do anything! You baby brat!" Her brother screamed while sticking his tongue out.

"Both of you down stairs now!" Her mom yelled trying to pry Sierra away.

"Now, Sierra don't be too sure it was your brother..." she said looking to the boy who looked as though he were an angel.

"Who else would have done it!" Sierra argued.

Sierras mom looked to carson. "Carson, did you ruin your sisters room?" Carson sat there looking to the ground.

"I didn't do it. Maybe it was the lady that lives here!" He said suddenly looking up as though it were an idea.

"What lady?" Sierras mom asked looking dumb struck.

"The lady that sleeps in the guest bedroom." He said pointing to the door.

Sierras mom rolled her eyes. It must just be his imaginary friend.

"Haha so funny." Sierra said looking at the door. "I will prove there is no lady living here!" She said heading toward the door.

Sierras mom and brother followed behind.

"I'm not sure that's such a good idea." Carson said as she put her hand on the door knob. "She doesn't like people bugging her while she works."

Sierra took a deep breath. She heald the door knob stiff. She slowly turned it until the door clicked and pushed open.

The room was empty other than a old bed. "See I told you!" She said turning to her brother.

"What are you talking about! You didn't prove anything! She is sitting right there!" He said pointing to the bed.

"Come on you guys stop fighting. You can help me dish up dinner for when your dad gets off work." Sierras mom said pushing them both away from the door.

****

"How was your first day of school?" Sierras dad asked staring at her.

"It was....weird." She said looking down at her full plate.

  "How so?" He asked.

"Well, people think I'm weird for living in this house because of an old folks tale." She said picking up her fork.

"That's ridiculous!" He said looking to her mother. Her mother shrugged.

"How was your day Carson?" He asked staring across the table.

"Like school always is....boring." they all laughed and returned to their dinner.

****

That night Sierra laid in bed staring at the ceiling.

Great. Everyone at school thinks I'm a weird girl now. And what is going on with this house? It must just be my imagination. That boy. He was so perfect. What if he likes me?

All of this flooded through her head when she heard her closet opening.

She sat up staring straight into the blackness that was her closet. Something was opening it from the inside.
