Aden’s pov

“Who needs alarm clocks when you can have thin glass and really annoying birds outside” I said as I did my morning exercise of doing one sit up out of bed. I looked down at my glowing clock to see it is only 5:00 AM. Doing my best attempt at an evil laugh, which obviously failed, I shot out of my room in lightning speed and outside to shut those birds up and to start this stupid diet that Lucy made me do.  Seriously, there was nothing wrong with my diet, I’ve never killed anyone, just made some really nice gullible friends at hospitals who think I am a person who goes around and saves people. The art of lying is a brilliant thing when you use it properly.

Walking back into the house, I notice a really old phone which to be honest looks as if it would be more useful as a brick. As I was standing in front of it I reached over and picked it up. I turned it on and looked through the contacts to see who it belonged to.

Mum

Dad

Rose

Oliver

Me

Now that one made me laugh. Why do people put me in the contacts, it’s not as if you are going to ring yourself, and it is really annoying when you want to find out who’s phone it is. Giving up with the contacts I go into the photos. The first photo was a group of people posing like gangsters, looking like complete idiots, but the person making the biggest fool of themselves was the only person in the photo who I recognised and who’s phone this obviously is. Lucy’s. Feeling like a spy, I decided to look through the rest of the photos. The next one was Lucy in the middle of a man and woman with a little boy huging her, she looked so happy. The next photo had the same man and woman in with the little boy. And so did nearly every other one. Studying them closer, I begin to see the similarities between Lucy and the others and realised that they were her family. After seeing those pictures, guilt flooded my mind as I thought of how much she is probably missing them. Trying to make the guilt go away I turned the phone of and put it in my bag ready to give to her in collage when an amazing idea hit me. I’m going to wake her up early and annoy her all morning, I bet she will love that I thought with mischief fogging my mind.

“Just a couple more minutes Ollie, tell mum I will wake up in a bit.” I mumbled into my pillow.

“Ollie seriously, stop it or else I will........ Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!” I screamed as I looked up from my bed to see Aden leaning over ready to poke me again. “What the hell are you doing in my house? Especially at this hour!” I cried at Aden in a stance ready to attack.

“Wow....wow just chill, I came to give you this.” He said as his hands were still diving through his worn out rucksack. After a couple of minutes he pulled out my phone from his bag and handed it to me. “See I knew it was in there some were, it was just probably hiding because it was scared that someone will confuse it with a brick and start building with it.”

“Shut up.” I snapped back at him as I was getting the pillow from my bed ready to chuck at his face. “What are you doing here and don’t say to give e my phone because you could have given me that in college.”

“Well a thank you would have been nice. You know I got up extra early to give you your phone just in case you were worried about it. I was just unable to sleep thinking you could be sad without it.” He said all dramatically with the back of his hand on his forehead. “Only joking, don’t think that highly of yourself, stupid birds woke me up so I thought as revenge they would be my first meal of this stupid diet of yours, and then I found your phone and had an amazing idea to wake you up early and annoy you. Good idea right?” trust Aden. He’s always the charmer I thought sarcastically.

“Yeah great idea” I said giving him the death glair. “So, my diet isn’t that bad is it?”

“puhhh, let’s just say it would have been better if I didn’t have any taste buds.” He said trying to keep a straight face, giving away the fact that he was lying and he actually liked it.

“I knew it, you liked my diet, you liked my diet” a sang whilst poking his chest.

“No I didn’t. Just go and get ready for college and I will hunt for you.” He said in a sulky voice. Oops I think I touched a nerve. Well I suppose its karma for him waking me up early, he just shouldn’t have done that and I wouldn’t pick on him for liking my diet if he hadn’t mocked it before.
