Chapter Five

My eyes snap open as I hear the ringing of a drill. I try to raise up but find that I am restrained to a bed. My mind immediately recognizes it as the vision I had with the doctor and the needle. Is this real? Am I having another vision? The drill rings again and I snap to attention. I look to the right. I'm staring at a white brick wall. I look to my left I see a wall filled with drawings. I stare at them. They start to move. I look to the ceiling. It's black and grimy. I try to talk, but there's something preventing me from it. A crackling sounds erupts from the door. My eyes wonder to the door, it slowly opens. A man wearing a doctor's coat enters. He speaks "Ah. Your awake! I bet your wondering why you are here." I try to rip out of the bed and he laughs. "I wouldn't try that if I were you. If you struggle too much, you'll be shocked, nearly to death." He pulls out a needle and walks towards me. He sticks the needle into my right arm. I try to scream. A pain floods my body and start to tremble. He rips the tape off my mouth. "I'll allow you to speak for 5 minutes." he says. "What-what are you doing to me? Where am I? Who are you?" I blurt. "I'm treating you. You are in a mental hospital for the truly insane. I am your doctor." he answers. "I'm not insane! I'm not! I wanna go home! TAKE ME HOME!" I scream. He chuckles and pulls a cloth from his pocket. He covers my mouth and the room begins to get blurry. I look at the door and see Jace. I try to scream. The doctor turns around and shares a smile with Jace. The room blackens as Jace closes the door. A fuzzy voice says my name. My eyes open and I see Lili hoovering over me. "Are you okay?"Lili asks. I nod and get off the musty ground. I look around. "Where are we?" I ask her. "We're at the hospital." she tells me. "What? No we aren't. We're in the alley..... Jace and some-someone who l-looked liked him and and..... I'm insane...." I say. "You're not insane... You're just just tired. That's it." Lili says. I shake my head. I look over to the corner and see Jace. "Why are you here? GET OUT!" I scream. Jace gets up and walks over to my bed. "Lili can you give us a moment?" Jace asks. She nods and leaves. Jace gets close to my ear and whispers. "Four months. That's all you have left. All we have left."
