*2 days later*
I wake up to the sound of knocking at my door. "Come in!" I yell. Angeline walks in with my breakfast on a trey. She places it on my lap and opens the lid. "Yay! Eggs and hash browns! Thank you so much Angeline," I say. "I figured I'd have them make you your favorite since you have a big day today," she says while opening my curtains. I look up at her with the most confused face. "After your done eating go to your living room. Master Vermon wants to speak with you," She says and leaves.
When I'm done eating I place my treys on my bedside table and head downstairs to my living room. I was still in my night gown and had pigtail braids in my hair. I see Mr. Vermon and bow. It's a sign of respect where he comes from. "Good morning Mr. Vermon," I say. "Good morning Irene," he replies in his same cold voice. "Irene today I will be having a very important guest over. He's very important to my business," I nod. "He's also bringing his son. He's one year older than you, but I expect you to become friends. This man is important, so it's crucial that you get along with him. Do you understand?" I think for a moment and say, "Yes, Mr.Vermon. Anything else?" I ask. "No, but please do dress in your best dress. First impressions are lasting impressions," he gets up and walks to his office. "Just great," I mumble as I walk back up to my room to get ready for the day. "Just great."

I finished curling my hair and put on my best dress and knee socks. I walk down stairs to see Mr. Vermon standing there, waiting for his guest. He looks me up and down. "I'm glad to see you can follow directions. Now when they get here I want you to-" he gets interrupted by the doorbell. He walks to open the door and welcomes them in. "Hello Mr. Simon. Welcome to my home," he says to our guest. There was a boy behind Mr. Simon. I'm guessing that was his son. "This is my niece, Irene. She's come to study abroad here," he puts his arm around my sholder. I smile. Mr. Simon puts his arm around his son and says, "This is my son Garroth," he looks at me and says, "I'm assuming you two are close in age. It would be wonderful to see you be friends," I smile and nod. Mr. Simon and Mr. Vermon head to the office. I turn to watch them leave and then turn back to see Garroth. Garroth seemed to be very reserved and quiet. "I'm Irene Blake. Nice to meet you," I say to Garroth. "I'm Garroth Simon. The pleasures all mine," "Would you like a tour of the house?" I ask trying to break the awkwardness. "Sure," he replies. I start telling him about the house and all about the rooms and decor. Then we get to the final room. My room. "This is my room. You can go head in there and I'll bring us up some tea and cookies," He nods and says, "Thank you," I walk to the kitchen and start to make the tea and heat up the cookies.
I finished the cookies and tea and walk up to my room. I open the door to see Garroth looking at my pictures. He seemed to be very interested in one. I walk up next to him and say, "This was before I left a couple months ago. That's my mom and dad," I say pointing to them. "And that's Joseph," I say pointing to him. Garroth looks very concerned when I say that. "Is Joseph your boyfriend?" He ask calmly heading to sit at the table in my room. I laugh. "Of course not. He's just a really good friend of mine. We grew up together," I say pouring yew for Garroth. He nods. "Do you have any siblings?" He asks me while sipping his tea. "No, I'm an only child. What about you?" "I have an older brother," he says. "That's nice. What's his name?" "His name is Jonathan. He's named after my dad," he says. Sounding like he wanted to end the conversation there. So I did. By the time we finished out tea and cookies I had learned that he didn't really talk to his brother much and that he went to a Phoenix Drop school. Those are the highest rated schools and are very hard to get into. I'll be starting there in the fall. We headed down stairs and Mr. Simon and Vermon were waiting for us. I bow to Mr. Vermon. "I hope I didn't keep you waiting," I say. "Not at all. We just finished," he says. Garroth and I say our goodbyes so does Mr. Simon and Vermon. Then they left.
