I awkwardly stepped into the maths room just before the late bell went off. I don't know why I'm still awkward about this new school, I've been here for over a week. And I've got four great friends! Their names are Liam Payne, Lily Collins, Pete Anderson, and Beyoncé King.
The first day of school was hectic, everyone was shouting and shoving. I got shoved and I fell on top of Liam, very awkwardly if I must say so... Lilly and Beyoncé pulled me off him; Pete helped Liam up. I said sorry almost 30 times before Pete's hand shot out to cover my mouth. Liam told me it was okay. And that's how the four of us became friends. Yes, just like that.
"Care to take a seat, Mr. Tomlinson?" Mr. Tucker's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Wha- oh yes, sorry. I'm just- I was- I'll-" I stuttered out while pointing towards my seat, head hanging in shame. I silently trudged over to my seat and sank into it. I received the oh so familiar ruffle of my hair that Liam had been giving me every day since the day we met. "Hey Li." I smiled softly.
"Hey Boo." He whispered into my hair and kissed the back of my head. I know what you are thinking! No, the answer is no. Liam and I are not an item. He is more like a protective, caring brother. But maybe, just maybe, I'm gay... Just maybe!
Liam sat down in his seat behind mine. The classroom door swung open and in struts Principal Nelson, clearing his throat as he examined the students around the classroom. We all sat there uncomfortable under his gaze, but we blankly stared back at him.
His eyes settled on Liam, who seemed completely unfazed by his sharp gaze. "Mr. Payne! My office after class." Principal Nelson stated bluntly then left the room as if it never happened. I looked back at Liam who just brushed it off with a subtle head shake.
"Now's not the time?" I asked placing my hand on his bicep. "Now's not the time." He repeated and kissed my forehead, I turned around knowing full well that he wouldn't tell me later, he wouldn't tell me at all.
I hope that at some point in time Liam will learn to trust me. I completely understand where he's coming from though. I don't trust many people either. Probably never will.
Mr. Tucker began this morning's maths lesson; I took notes when I was supposed to and subtly looked back at Liam every ten minutes just to make sure he was doing alright. He seemed okay but I couldn't help but be worried about him. I mean he was my best friend from the start. He listens to me, but I can't help but think there is something bothering him all the time.
I whipped around handing him a note. He raised an eyebrow and cocked his head to the side. I looked pointedly at the note before turning back around to face the front.
The note read:
We need to talk. Lunch, at our table. This is serious.
~Louis T.Liam reached over my shoulder and dropped a piece of paper in my lap while pressing a kiss to the back of my head.
His note read:
Okay, will do. I hope nothing bad has happened. But we'll talk. Later Boo, talk to you at lunch.
- Liam P.I breathed out a sigh of relief, stuffing the note into my pocket. I copied the rest of the notes down from the board before class finished. I packed up and headed out of the classroom.
