Devin’s POV

~~~~~~~~~~
I stood there in the rain listening to the sweet sounds of the water droplets hitting the ground, hiding my own tears against the misty rain. The coolness soothed me and I began to reminisce about the weeks before all of this had happened.
3 weeks earlier
“Devin! Come on you have to ask him or you will never know.”
My friend Bree has been trying to get me to ask out Hayden, a guy I have had a crush on since the first time I saw him. Her blue eyed stared straight at me I could have sworn she was about to kill me when I heard a familiar voice chuckle. I turned around to see a guy who stood maybe 5’8 with curly dark brown hair, green eyes and a dimpled grin.
“Yeah Devin, You should ask him out.”
“Shut up….”
“Excuse me?”
I looked down and saw his hand slip out a knife and his fingers slowly lifted up my chin.
“Mind saying that again, love. I didn’t quite catch that.” He smirked.
I shook my head.
“Hey, dude come on. This wasn’t a conversation you were i-“ the knife cut Bree off and a small slice appeared across her nose.
“Did you think I was bluffing?”
I looked over at Bree stunned; she closed her mouth and backed away slowly away from him.
“So you think Justice has a voice?, but we all have a choice.”
“Justice is no monster.”
“You think I’m a monster love? You haven’t even got to the best part yet” He said smirking, his eyes glued to mine.
I kept my mouth closed.
“And I won’t feel a thing.”
His last sentence was like a melody.
“You sing?”
He hesitated then nodded. “I studied some in high school.”
“You-You have a good voice.” I managed to say.
“You know nothing of me, what makes you think I can sing?”
“The actions don’t make the voice of a person.”
“What ever happened to actions speak louder than words?”
“I don’t know you tell me..”
With that I walked away from him without getting his name or anything.
