*Tony's P.O.V.*

"Stark," somebody shook my shoulder. "Hey, come on, wake up."

I groaned and opened my eyes slightly. I was temporarily blinded by the whiteness of the room I was in. I stared, confused until I realized where I had fallen asleep. I looked over at the bed next to my chair.

Kendall's dark hair was spilled over the white pillow and blankets. Her eyes were shut and her lips were slightly parted. I could hear her soft breathing and see her chest rise and fall with every breath she took. I sighed and looked over at Steve who was looking down on me.

"What?" I asked him.

"Fury wants to see us all in the lab, come on."

I got up and rubbed my eyes. "All right, I'll be down in a minute." Steve nodded and headed for the door.

I looked back down at Kendall and she was still the same. She wasn't moving. Only her chest was rising and falling. I sighed and started towards the door.

I had taken one step when I felt a hand grab my wrist.

"Stark?" I heard a voice ask. "Is that you?"

"Damn straight, it's me." I said, my voice cracking a little bit.

I turned around and faced the bed. Kendall's arm was outstretched and her little hand was wrapped around my wrist. Her fingers couldn't even wrap all the way around it. There was a slight smile on her lips. Her eyes were still shut, though.

"You need anything?" I asked her. She nodded.

"Water would taste freaking amazing right now." She said, opening her eyes.

Once she opened them I recoiled with a gasp. Kendall's once deep brown eyes were now a light gray.

Her face scrunched up in confusion.

"What? What's the matter?" She asked. "Do I have drool on my face?" She wiped the back of her hand along the side of her mouth.

I shook my head. "N-no," I told her. "It's not that. It's just - can you see alright?"

She gave me one of those 'you're a weirdo' looks. "I can see perfectly fine. Actually, probably better than normal. Why? What aren't you telling me, Stark?"

"Nothing!" I told her. I reached for the door handle. "I'm gonna go and get that water now, okay?" She nodded.

I felt the room and went out the the nurses station.

"Can I get a cup of water?" I asked one of the nurses. She nodded and left to go and retrieve it. While she was gone my mind decided to wander.

Why were Kendall's eyes gray? I know that her eyes had changed colors when she had used her "powers" on Loki that day a couple of weeks ago. But I - we all had assumed that it was just a one time thing. But apparently it wasn't.

The nurse had come back and handed me the cup of water. "Thanks," I said and walked back to Kendall's room.

"Kendall,I got your - " I looked at Kendall's eyes again and this time they were blue. I almost dropped the cup I was holding but I managed to catch it, only dropping a little bit of water.

"Alright," she said. "You can't deny that nothing's wrong now. You're eyes are all wide and stuff. Obviously something's going on here." She crossed her arms over her chest.

I looked away for a second and then looked back. Her eyes were still blue for now. I sighed and walked over to her. Handing her the cup in the process.

"Okay, well, you see," I said, taking a seat. "You know how you're eyes were brown?"

She nodded, then raised an eyebrow. "WERE?"

I looked down. "Well, before I went to go get you're water, they were gray."

"GRAY?!"

"And, well, right now they're blue..."

"WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL IS GOING ON WITH ME." She yelled. I jumped up out of my seat.

"Hey! It isn't my fault! I don't know! You just woke up! Up until now we all thought you were back to -" I broke off as the door slammed open and Fury came storming in.

"Stark! Didn't Rogers come in here and tell you - Kendall?!" Fury said, shocked. He saw Kendall sitting up in the bed and his face showed disbelief for a second before it morphed back into its usual hardness.

"Hi Nick," Kendall said with a almost embarrassed smile on her face. I don't know why she would be embarrassed, I mean we didn't do anything and she didn't do anything wrong.

"You're awake," he said. She nodded.

"She only just woke up, though," I said. Fury turned toward me. "Right when I was about to go see you." I added as an afterthought.

"Uh huh, and why didn't you decide to alert any of the nurses that she was awake?" He asked me.

I shrugged. "Not very nice to leave a lady right after she's awoken from a coma for two weeks," I told him.

"Two weeks?!" Kendall shouted. "I was out for two weeks?! Why didn't you tell me earlier?!"

"I didn't think it would be that important." I said, shrugging. She raised her hand as if to hit me but then put it back down and collapsed back again the pillow.

"I'm tired." She said.

"Well, now that you're awake you need to be checked on to make sure you okay. And if you are, you're coming with me." Fury told her.

She groaned. "Whatever. I'm fine, then. I'll go get ready." She started to get off the bed but wobbled when she got on her feet, but she didn't fall. "Can one of you go and get me clothes?" She asked impatiently.

Fury stood up. "I'll go, but sit back down. You're making me nervous. Stark, have someone look at her while I'm gone." I rolled my eyes and got up to go look for a doctor.

I followed Fury out of the room. Once we were out of hearing range from the door to Kendall's room I turned to Fury.

"So, what do you think's up with Kendall?" I asked.

"I don't know, but I'm hoping whatever it is, the doctors can figure out." He said and strode out of the hospital wing.

I sighed and walked over to the doctors station.

*Kendall's P.O.V.*

When Fury came back with my clothes the doctors were finally finished examining me and everyone left me to get dressed on my own.

At least they let me do that by myself. Of course they insisted on helping but I wouldn't let them. I stripped from the hospital gown that I was in and looked at the clothes Fury had brought me.

It was my Led Zeppelin tshirt and my black jeans with the hole in the knee. And flip flops. Who wears flip flops with jeans? Jeez.

I quickly got dressed and slipped my feet into my flip flops. I went over to the mirror that was in the corner of the room and noticed my eyes for the first time.

Stark was right. They weren't brown anymore. They were a light blue. That was crazy. My eyes had never changed colors before. This shouldn't be happening. I shook my head and looked at my hair. It was all puffy around my head. I made a face at it in the mirror and pulled it back into a ponytail with the hair tie I had around my wrist.

I walked out into the corridor outside my hospital room and looked for Stark and Fury. They were sitting across the hall. Stark doing something on his phone and Fury looking aggravated at something.

I coughed to get their attention. Fury looked at me with his one eye and Stark looked up from his phone and got up as he shoved his phone into his pocket.

"Now what?" I asked them. Fury got up and started to walk down the hall.

"Now we ask you about that night." He said and walked into the door that led into the control room.

I looked over at Stark and raised an eyebrow. He just shrugged.
