Ross.
Upon getting home I go upstairs to take a cold shower. Being struck by lightning and having some crazy Deva's mark on my shoulder?I think that's a bit too much action for one day. I let the cool water run down down my body, relieving me of my stress. After the shower I change into some comfortable clothes and go downstairs. My mom's not home. She went on a camping trip with my dad so I've got the whole house to myself. For the weekend at least. I sit on the couch and turn on the TV. Within minutes I'm asleep and i have the craziest dream...
I'm in some alternate universe or something, because everything seems upside down. I look ahead and before me is an enormous palace lined with rubies and gold. I walk slowly toward it before I'm met by an Asura. He's seven feet tall and unrealisticly buff. He has a clean shaven head and no facial hair. But I cant make out his face because it is constantly shifting. Weird, this must be a monk or something. At least he's dressed like one. From what I've picked up at History class, (honestly not a lot) monks usually wear a one piece that is dirty orange in colour, with a sweeping robe on top of that. He's dressed exactly like that but he's clad in white instead. The only two distinctive features were his eyes and the mark on his forehead. His eyes are pure gold(yep, he doesn't even have whites). They bore into me as if not only looking at me, but seeing my soul too. His mark was just above his right eyebrow. It was a red Devanagari, शिव. The mark of Shiva.
"Who are you and where am I?" I struggle to keep the fear out of my voice.
" I am Shiva Kumar Singh, the destroyer and Deva of battle. You are on my sacred mountain, Mount Kailasa."
Shiva my foot.
"So you doubt me mortal?" his voice had a rhythm to it. Like he was speaking with two voices as one. He also made the word mortal sound like an insult.
Oh great. He can read minds too.
"No offence, but i was expecting you to be a bit taller."
"AAARGH! Do you mortals know nothing? If I am to show you my true form you would disintegrate before my eyes. I cannot believe that Manasa recommended such a foolish mortal."
Me and my big mouth.
"Recommended me for what?" I ask daringly. He places his index and his thumb on his chin stroking his non-existent goatee, as if thinking. Probably reconsidering his daughter's 'recommendation'.
"Yesterday the Aum inscription was stolen by Vrtra and his Asuras-the Danavas. He intends to use it to forge a weapon capable of summoning an unstoppable army of Yakasha, Danavas and fallen Devai. The oldest verses of the Samhita- the eternity scroll, state clearly that to kill Vrtra a Deva must become one with a mere mortal forming an Aditya. I intend too merge with you. We cannot accomplish this alone, I'm afraid, so the other prime Devai, Vishnu, Brahma, Trimurti and Durga are assimilating with your companions as we speak."
As Shiva finishes speaking he puts his arm on my mark and begins to chant.( in Hindi of course) I feel a sharp pain and I fall to my knees. He continues chanting, with even more vigour. I notice that his mark is glowing. He finishes his chant with, "अब हम एक हैं". And he produces a knife and stabs my stomach. My vision blurs as I pass out.
