 *Cameron’s POV*

The drive took no more than ten minutes, and during those ten minutes was Kayla going, “Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?” Every time after the first two or three times, I’ve had an annoyed look on my face, showing it to her, of course. She just lets out a cute giggle and pecks my cheek. Even though it was only a friendly kiss, I really do like it, and sort of wish it to be more than just a friendly kiss, if you know what I mean. But, I doubt she feels the same way about me as I do to her.

We’ll never be more than just friends. It’s times like this when I really do want to tell her how I really feel. I want her to know that I care about her, love her, and am always here for her, and always will. I want to tell her than she can always come to me whenever she has some life crisis going on. No matter how much I want to tell her all that, I always end up chickening out. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t a chicken, and would just tell her straight out. But, if I did, and she tells me she doesn’t feel the same way for me as I do to her, then, I just poured out all my feelings on her for basically nothing. And we all know how embarrassing that is.

We finally made it to our destination, and as soon as I parked the car at a barely full parking lot, I pulled out a blindfold from my shirt pocket and handed it to her. “Put this on,” I told her, making her pout.

“A blindfold, Cameron? You know I hate blindfolds…and surprises!”

I smirked. “I know. That’s why I’m making you wear it. Don’t worry; I’ll be right beside you, guiding you to the place. It won’t be a long walk, promise.”

She let out a sigh, but anxiously put on the blindfolds. “This better be worth it!”

“Oh, it will be a million times worth it!” I lightly chuckled as I hopped out of the car and went around assisting Kayla. “As long as you trust me.”

“Oh, I trust you with my whole life!” she said sarcastically as she got out of the car, holding my hand tight. “Don’t do anything stupid like, pushing me in a hole.”

“When have I ever done that?”

“You haven’t, but you might.”

Again, I let out another chuckle and walked with her, hand-in-hand, across the street and landed on the soft, sandy ground.

“Are we on a beach, Cameron?” she asked me halfway to where I set up a picnic.

I let out a fake gasp and pretended to be angry. “It’s supposed to be a surprise!”

“Well, nice job trying to surprise me when I can feel the sand go in my shoes.”

“Okay, okay, you can sit down now and take off your blindfold,” I said, helping her sit on the blanket and sit across from her as she impatiently takes off the blindfold. Her eyes widened. I grabbed my acoustic guitar and began playing a new song.

Her look: the look of astonishment and excitement, all in on
