Melody's POV
Something really weird is happening.
Currently it's 6.45pm on a Saturday evening and for some bizarre reason myself, Stiles, Scott and Aria are all at the school. Though it may seem unconventional that we're all at the school on a Saturday; we were supposed to be going out to celebrate me passing my maths exam and now being able to graduate with my boyfriend and our four best friends next year; Scott -being the person that he is- came to some un-expectant conclusion that he needed his hair gel out of his locker and asked Stiles to stop off on the way, knowing him he's blatantly trying to show off his werewolf ability of getting into the school and out as quickly as possible.
Getting out the jeep and looking around the grounds, it felt like I was in a dream; I know too much crazy shit is real for it to be a dream anymore. It put me on edge as the last time I felt like this was when Allison had died and I just felt numb.
The usual view of the school was obscured by what looked like a massive maze. It wasn't a stone maze it was more of vast, thick hedges with roots draped on the ground and hanging over the top.
"What the hell?" I said aloud.
I already knew by the looks on my friends faces they didn't know the answer but Scott spoke for them anyway
"I have no idea" he sighed "But I guess we better find out". Aria quick wittily replied with "I knew you were gunna say that!" Not looking phased by any of it at all, to be honest we are used to all this crazy stuff, it happens on a daily basis.
"Bro maybe we should call Derek?" Stiles said unsure. "By the time he gets here we could of already found out." Scott said walking towards the maze entrance.
Both me and Aria then nodded our heads in agreement.
"Just come on" I said to Stiles half dragging him.
Myself and Stiles had been dating for around a year now, it feels like I have had a crush on him since the day I could make up my mind; unfortunately Stiles had been hung up over one of my best friends - Lydia since day 1 and I have had to wait until he finally realised who I was at school.
That's were Aria comes into our friendship, Aria moved to Beacon Hills a few months after Allison's death; Scott had time to grieve and move on and fortunately for him Aria seemed to be perfect for him, meaning that they seemed to attract each other.
Finally plucking up the courage to make new friends I decided that Aria would be the perfect place to start and I was right- we clicked! She loved everything that I loved and she was so easy to talk to, we immediately began to hang out.
Evidently that meant Scott began to hang out with us and so did Stiles! Not to mention Lydia, Isaac, Hayden and Liam who sits with us everyday and then Lydia and Isaac usually coming out with us regularly. Once Stiles and I realised how much we had in common we began to hang out just the two of us, sometimes even picking me up in his jeep and driving me to our favourite spots in town; this was before all the supernatural events began to occur.
"Melody snap out of it, keep moving!" Aria half whispered at me smiling and snapping her fingers in my face.
Giggling I then looked to Stiles "Are you alright?" I asked him.
"He's like that because he doesn't have his bat" Aria said laughing.
We all laughed apart from Stiles who looked at us extremely worried "Damn it! Aria you're right, I don't have my bat!" He said throwing his hands in the air.
"We have to go back!" He continued starting to turn around and walk back to his jeep.
I grabbed his arm before he could walk away.
"Stiles you don't need it, come on please!"
I pulled him back to the entrance.
"Ok well if a giant monster thing comes out of no- where and starts attacking us don't expect me to help!" Stiles began and then sighed waiting a few seconds for a reaction and finally giving in "Even though I would...BUT THATS NOT THE POINT!"
"Stop whining and come on" Aria said rolling her eyes whilst Scott chuckled at how strong she acted. We all walked through the entrance of the maze without talking.
Aria stayed close to Scott, their hands intertwined. Me holding Stiles' sweaty, trembling hand which was holding mine in return rather tight, we couldn't see anything but we could hear several people talking loudly like there was a crowd. Dismissing our worry (well Scott and Aria almost immediately but Stiles and I trying to quite impossibly) our curiosity getting the better of us as we continued walking down the winding paths of the maze.
Again we heard the same low mumbles of people talking, almost as if they were all keeping a secret, almost as if they were... hiding?
We exchanged confused expressions. "You guys can hear that too?" Scott asked incase he was the only one that heard it due to his supernatural hearing.
"Yeah dude we can hear it" replies Stiles
"I'm guessing it's coming from the school" Aria answered.
Why would anyone be hiding in the school? I thought to myself "I feel like it's this way?" I said.
"Are you sure Melody? You know you're not too good at puzzles?" Stiles said chuckling to himself as he looked to me to get a reaction, which he got almost immediately. "HEY!" I cried, resulting in me then pushing him into a bush.
Aria and Scott laughed at us until their laughter was cut short and everyone had stopped on the path. Before I could grasp what was going on I was knocked over? Falling to my knees, as I felt the bruises already forming I heard growling and realised Scott had turned, sensing something was going to happen.
Then suddenly Aria screamed quite a high pitched scream, some sort of creature grabbing onto her leg and pulling her into the darkness as she suddenly disappeared from sight. "ARIA!!" I screamed loudly. Scott and Stiles both like me were shouting her name as they ran to the spot in which she was taken and then sprinted a little to the end of the alleyway.
I scrambled to my feet just to be knocked down again, the air being forced our of my chest making it hard to breathe for a few seconds. Stiles realised what was happening and began a sprint over to me as I tried to regain my posture. "You okay?" He shouted to me anxiously not quite reaching me yet.
"Yeah. I'm fi..." I began to shout back; before I could say the word I was getting dragged backwards by the same something that obviously took Aria.
"STILES!" I shrieked.
I began to claw at the floor trying to get a grip of something, anything. I was terrified.
"MELODY!!!" Stiles yelled as dived on his belly, almost reaching my outstretched hand, missing by just a couple of centimetres.
Scott was just behind him trying to do same, clearly distraught about his girlfriends disappearance and clinging to the hope he can save me at least. I tried kicking but it tightened it's grip, the last thing I saw before I was dragged into the darkness was Stiles' distressed look and Scott's disappointment in himself.
STILES POV
I couldn't grab her hand.
I tried so hard and still it wasn't good enough. All I could hear was her piercing screams. Then she was gone. I kept shouting her name, Scott was also.
"WHAT DO WE DO!?" I let out an exasperated sigh "IT HAS TAKEN THEM!!"
"Stiles just stay behind me!" Scott said clearly furious and disappointed.
"SCOTT I DONT CARE! WE HAVE TO FIND TH-" I was cut off as Scott's eyes began to glow it's usual bright red, his anger clear as he bellowed "I SAID GET BEHIND ME!" Before I could do what he said the creature had leaped directly for me and pinned me to the floor. Dribbling in my face, even though I was trembling with fear I was still able to crack a joke in the midst of this attack "Dude! you need a mint!".
Scott leaped at the thing knocking it off me but it was soon dragging him away and there was nothing I could do about it. "SCOTT!!" I ran after him but he was gone.... This always seems to happen?? I thought to myself.
Then it dawned on me,
I'm next.
