???'s P.O.V.

I sat under the tree of the court yard. I saw everyone having fun but I wasn't one of em. It's not necessarily that I'm an introvert I just don't wanna hang out with people. I looked down at the sketch book I had and just crossed out the drawing of the tree across from me. I stood up and dusted off my pants from grass and dirt. I started walking to the main building. All of a sudden someone bumped into me.

"Oh snap! I'm sorry, didn't see you!" He said, picking up my sketch book the opened on the way down. He was about to give it to me when he quickly took it back. "Woah, this is so cool! Did you draw it?" He referred to the tree that I scribbled out. I nodded. "Can I keep the page?"

"If you want yeah." I said. I have no idea why he wanted a half scribbled out piece of crap, but hey, whatever.

"What's your name by the way? I don't think we've met."

"My name's Joe."

"Adam."

1 Year Later

"Joooeee! Clean your side of the room, your paper is flooding over to my side!" Adam yelled, shaking me from my sleeping state.

"I'm sleeping Adam." I said, annoyed.

"They're doing rounds." Adam said, crossing his arms, walking away.

"OH shit. Help me, yeah? " I jumped out of bed. Gathering up papers and pencils from the floor and just stacking the paper in the corner and the pencils in the holder. Adam and I have been roommates in the orphanage for about a year now. He took a liking to my art instantly when I met him. We hung out and sooner or later, he got the person in charge to let us switch rooms so we could be together. I didn't really mind, my other roommate I was with was very obnoxious and loud. I like Adam. He's quiet when I ask him to, and he doesn't bother me when I'm drawing. (Which I like.) I heard the P.A. Announcement in the hall that made a loud beep boop sound then said, " Gentleman of the Colorado State Orphanage. The Mathewson's are here to pick up, what's the name Margret?" A lady's voice now emitted from the speaker. " Joe in room 381B. I repeat, Joe in room 381B, Please come to the main corridor with your belongings." And with that the voice was gone. I turned around to Adam. He had a blank stare on his face but when he noticed I was staring at him, he gave a small, sad, smile.

"Well, go on, get your things together. They're waiting for you." He said ,sounding forced. I got my backpack from under my bed and begs to put away what I thought was necessary. When I turned around Adam just hugged me.

"I'll miss you." He said. He was pretty short so I rested my head on his. He hugged me tighter and without me realizing what he had done.

He kissed me.

It was nothing crazy, just a friendly little kiss on my cheek. And with that I smiled, said goodbye, and left.

-Time Skip-

I ran to the main hall were I was met with a nice family. One with a red hat and the other with a beard. They had a lot of kids so they're probably rich.

"Oh Joe, their you are. These are the Mathewson's. This is Jordan and Dan. They'll be your parents from now on!"
