I sat in the pew, listening to the preacher talk. Beside me, on my right side, my sister, Elle, fidgeted in her seat. She was wiggling around as if she couldn't wait to leave, and she probably couldn't. Catholic church services are the longest thing you'll ever sit through. On my left, my brother, Kevin, was fast asleep. My parents were no where in sight. It seemed I was the only one in my family that was interested in church. A few minutes later, my parents sat in the pew, out of breath. I didn't pay much attention to them. When the service ended, my parents took my siblings out to the car, but I was stopped. "Melissa," said Father Zeke with a smile. I smiled back.

"Father," I said, nodding respectfully.

"Melissa, I just wanted to tell you how happy I am that you're coming here every Sunday. Even though your family is living in sin, I'm glad that at least one member of your family is doing good," he said. I nodded. As he was talking, someone over in the corner caught my eye. The 'someone' in question was puttering around the room, muttering things under his breath, and acting very suspicious. "Um, Father, terribly sorry to interrupt, but I need to go do something." I said, walking away from him. I could literally feel him shaking his head behind my back. I walked over to the suspicious man. That was when all hell broke loose, literally.
