i woke up early to go to school. Gah i hate that place. It's where all the teacher have to pick on me because I'm not like other students. I'm a rebel sure but who cares.

I slip on my baggy black jeans and white v-neck.  I slip on my black jacket and black converse. I slip my black army backpack.

I walk out the front door and ignore the comments my parents are giving.

I get on the bus and see a new girl. A brunette. She had her face buried in a book.

I sit in the seat next to her. I look at her. She has a t-shirt with a feathered knee high skirt. She has red flats and a red beanie.

She looked up at me her hazel eyes with a dull twinkle. I haven't seen that since i was a little boy with big hopes and dreams. They were crushed when they adopted me. Those monsters.

"Hi." She mumbles before looking back at her book. She shuffles her weight noticing i'm still staring at her. She must not like it. "Excuse me is there something on my face. Am i that Ugly. Well thanks. Please spare your eyes and look away." She snaps.

"No you're just different." I says. touching her brown hair. She flinches back a little from my touch.

"Hey, Damion! Man you got to see this. This girl is like smoking a crack pipe and making pictures with the smoke." The new girl rolls her eyes.

"I'm Carter by the way." She says.

"Damion." I smile as i say it. she smiles back. That's a beautiful smile. "Carter?"

"Yeah?" She says looking up from her book, i didn't know she started reading.

"Has anyone told you, you're smile is wonderful." She rolls her eyes.

"Let me guess. Bad boy player type who will do anything to get in my pant, huh? Well big boy if that's the case i might just have to." She says sacrasticly.

"No I'm like that but at a respectable amount. Who am i kidding. Yes. You know you want this D."

"No thanks. I'm saving myself for that special someone." She says.

"Oh he'll be special." Jake my best friend says.

"Kiss my ass." She mutters before turning her face to her book.

I lean over a little bit and whisper in her ear. "Gladly."

"Leave me alone before i kill you." I chuckle.

We get the brick jail. As we pile off the bus i notice it's taking Carter a little longer than the rest so i slip into the next open seat. She walks a normal paced walk. I slip in behind her.

"What's taking so long?" I asks. She shrugs.

we're in first hour now.

"Ok class we have a new student, Carter Mayhue.Tell us about yourself." Carter shyly stands up.

"Hi um... i'm 15 going to be 16 in march. I came down here for doctoral reasons. So yeah that's really all you need to know."

"What do you like to do?"The teacher asks.

"Boring lame stuff i'd get laughed at for."

"Like what?" Damn, Mrs. Cox. So snoopy.

"Well reading, writing and art. Pretty much it." She smiles and sits down.

"Well that was ok. Um let's get started."

Lunch rolls around. I see her sitting alone. Her face buried in a book. No food and alone. She takes her little hand to move some loose falling hair behind her ear. She's all alone.

"I'm going over here." I say getting up. I take my sandwich we all know i was just going to throw at a nerd and slap it in front of her on the table. "You should really eat. If you keep having all my classes then you're going to need it." I say.

"No thanks. I can't eat certain things. Due to what the do...nurse says. I have a really bad stomach ach. She told me to eat crackers. Just made it worse. " she says. Lying of coarse.

"oh well at least eat something. I have jell-o. Oranges. A granola bar. here." i get up and grab my tray with one hand and my jacket with the other.

"Take your pick. The nerds will just get attacked by it later. "

She takes the slices and the granola bar.

"Thanks." I shrug. "So..why are you being so nice?"

"why wouldn't i be?"I question.

"because most people don't even bother trying." I say with a smile. "I mean I'm probably going to leave next month for doctoral reasons. Any minute i could be leaving." For some reason my heart drops.

"well until then lets talk. Get to know each other. Who knows it might be fun." I hear her whimper sort of.

"Those boys? Are they your friends?" she asks bowing her head down

"Which ones?" i asks looking at her.

"The ones in the varsity jackets?" She looks slightly at me.

"no those are Jocks." i say in a disgusted tone.

"Then why are they coming over here?" She says inn a high pitched whisper.

"hey gorgeous. " Henry says.

"You can stop trying." Carter says looking up at him. "I'm not in the mood to date."

"Hear that. Beat it Damion." Henry says.

"Not him dumb ass. You." Carter snaps.

"fine, I'll get you. Just wait."

"You can't touch this fine piece of candy because player aint got nothing i want." I burst out laughing. "Plus you wouldn't have the money to buy such a fine piece like me. So ninja step back and enjoy the view. Paper money can't buy me but the amount of money you heart holds will."

later on the bus Carter seemed a little out of it. She rushed off the bus at her stop. I saw her bending over coughing and a woman rushing over to her leading her to the car before she disappeared.

I wasnt going to see her till tomorrow, but little did we know what i said at lunch would lead to much more.

the red head finished typing that up. Jeremy was now sleeping. It was dark outside.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow" the eager woman said fiddling with her fingers.

"Yes. See you tomorrow."  Damion laid jeremy in the crib. He ate left overs from the night before. He soon fell asleep after crying for so long.
