Chapter 6

  “Hey what's up” me and Derek said at the same time sounding like identical twins then laughed.

“So I’m guess you guys are back together” Matt responded as he slammed his locker.

“No!” I protested “Why would you even say that! You know just because two people happen to be walking and talking to each other doesn-. Matt shut me up simply pointing to me and Derek’s interlocking hand hold.

"Oh..." I said embarrassed than quickly and slammed Derek’s into the air and wiped any proof of it against my pair of cargo's. Holding hands was something we just did; it’s the most natural thing to us.

Ring!

 “Oh I got to go” I gave Derek a quick peck on the lips

“Okay bye”.

As started walking to my class I came to the realization that I did it again I stopped dead in my tracks and turned around to look at Matt and Dare.

   Dare was just normally sticking his books in his locker as Matt looked at me and Derek in confusion then laughed. “You two need a class in how to break up 101.”

As I walk to class I realized Matt was right. I need to spend some time apart from him there is so much to the world than love and lost and summer was the perfect time to do it. As I took my seat in class Mr. Taribio told the class to settle down and take our seats because he had a very important announcement to make before we take our exams.

“Okay class as you all know this is a school of the Arts. And because of that special privilege we get more opportunity to show case our talent than other schools. Well, next year we will be having our annual talent show but with a few minor changes and surprises. For one we will be having the talent show in the first week of school this is why I’m telling you this now so you can prepare over the summer. The reason why is because we will be having a famous celebrity guest judging the talent and the winner will get to spend the first quarter of school the school year on a European tour with the celebrity with of course their very own tutor so that they won't fall behind.”

The whole class cheered and broke out in conversation.

“Yo Angel. Me and you gotta do something together” Jose shouted across the room in the middle of the commotion.

  “I don't think I can because I doubt that I'm going to even be in town over the summ-' I tried to say before Mr. Taribio interrupted me.

“Settle down class I still haven't told you the bad news. All talent has to be strictly musical.” I heard a couple of Boo's and Aww's in the back of the class room.

"Who is the celebrity going to be” I asked not wanting to go on tour with a jerk off. 

“The school won't tell me. They said they want to keep it a surprise because the artist wants to go on tour with a different kind of sound rather than his own and their afraid if they tell the students they will lean in more to his kind of style of music rather than what their comfortablewith.“

This is cool”s and “I can’t wait”s traveled around me as notes, beats, tone, and lyrics flew up in my mind.

Location- After School standing by matt’s car waiting for a ride.

“Yeah dad that would be great!” I lilted over the phone as Derek walked over. “Okay bye dad, love you” I hung you.

“Okay who was that and why are you so happy” Dare asked.

“That was my dad and I’m happy because I’m going to England most prestiges and highest music schools over the summer” I jumped up and down happily.

“Wait isn’t that the school that you said could kiss your ass before you would waste a summer on them” Derek said confused.

“I only said that because I didn’t think I couldn’t last a summer without you. That is until I found out you were a lying cheating scum bag who can go around kissing other girls without even giving a thought to what I might think” I said in disgust. “Anyways this will be good for us we need some time apart. People are always saying there is way more to this world than love and lost and I want to see some of it.”

Derek didn’t say a word he just looked at me with those eyes saying “I miss you already.”
