I was floating.

Yes floating, that's what I could call it. My heart was beating so fast I could feel the vibration as it drummed against my ribcage. The roller-coster reached the top and paused dramatically.

And suddenly lightning struck and more flashes before I heard a scream. My chest felt heavy and suddenly I couldn't breathe. The roller-coaster went down. Others on board started screaming in excitement while I fought for the air to get back in my lungs and retrieve the normal rhythm I was having just a few seconds ago.

The ride came to a stop.

I was probably blue at this point.

Every one got off and I scrambled with the straps and tumbled out on shaking feet. Tears sprung in my eyes and I landed on my knees infront of the guy with the large lever that starts the ride.

Before he could investigate my state, A body dropped itself in front of me and cupped my face.

"Crystal?"

I looked up and met a familiar pair of greys.

"Crystal, come on breathe for me."

Like the spell had been undone, I gasped taking in the biggest breathe imaginable and started to cough. He gatgered me into his arms and rubbed my back as I spattered into coughs,

"Its okay," he breathed into my hair, "Its okay. You are okay."

"Its okay, Crystal," he continued, "Breathe, its okay. Breathe, we are okay."

And my breathe returned.

I held on to him like he was my life line and cried tears of relief.

"Its okay," he said.

"You are okay."

"We are okay."

It must have been about ten minutes or so that passed and I was still in his arms. Warm, soft...peace. That is what he was to me. He was my peace.

I looked up and there he was ready with his eyes immediately locking onto me. The flashes and the noise was gone.

I yawned my eyes feeling heavy. His arm went under my knees and he lifted me up with him as I got comfy on his chest.

"Let's take you home." He whispered in my hair and I closed my eyes.

"Where did he come from?" Carl asked standing up abruptly causing his chair to fall over. Rachael shrugged.

Zack popped another corn in his mouth and continued to watch silently like it was a movie.

Carl looked around and his eyes paused at the empty seat that was previously occupied by Danny. He hadn't joined them in a while. Rachael's smile faltered when she followed Carl's line of vision. Carl quickly turned back to Rachael.

"What does this mean for her mate?" He asked exasperated, "You know he remembers her or at least he thinks he does."

"What does he think will happen if he does find her?" Zack spoke up eyes still glued to the screen watching Crystal being carried away from the gathered crowd, "She has clearly moved on...minus the PTSD of course."

"Exactly," Rachael said.

Carl threw his hands in the air, "Then why are we still here? Why are we still stalking her?"

Every one paused for a second. Zack stopped mid chew.

"That is a valid question.

"Amy?"

Amy straightened up.

"Yes, doc."

The doctor put down his notes, "You did great."

Amy's blood shot eyes lifted up in surprise, "I did great?"

Silence settled and the doctor got up from behind his desk and walked round to stand in front of Amy.

"Amy," he said her name softly, "You did great."

For the first time since their sessions began with the doctor talking.

"You saved her." he started.

Amy shook her head no and tears started down her face again.

"You saved her."

Amy's heart stooped bleeding in that moment. Her eyes rose and she sat straight in her seat like a new woman. All the painful events played back in her mind like a broken stereo but for the first time, she didn't flinch with the pain of guilt. Her mind replayed the nights she hadn't slept thinking of ways of saving her best friend. The countless strategies that flew past her head at the speed of light in the middle of the night as she stayed awake.

"Crystal is gone."

The doctor held onto Amy's face in a way that had her widening her eyes in surprise. The position they were in was close and intimate. Amy felt her fingers tingle ready to defend herself should things escalate to heights she dreaded when her eyes locked on his. Her mind was sucked into his and the feeling was like the one she felt on the day she saw Crystal die. When Danny came to comfort her. The things she saw, felt and lived through. The entire illusion.

But this time it wasn't her she was watching. It wasn't an imagination where she was working through the death of her best friend. It was like the first time when she got her magic. Her heart warmed and this time she didn't feel the urgent need to get to where it is she was seeing. She felt peace watching the scene unfold.'Right before her eyes she saw Crystal lying on a bed, eyes closed lights off except for the occasional lightning flashing from the outside. Her forehead was glistening with sweat and she tossed and turned like she was fighting something in her dream. A pang hit Amy 's chest right at that moment when she chose for only then to believe that what she was seeing was true. Her fingers itched to hold her and cry out in relief that she was whole and safe but the door opened. Light from the hall allowed Amy to see Crystal's face in full. Her new colored hair and the second ear piercing in her ear.

Fresh tears down thinking of how much she had grown.

Someone walked in, tall and curly haired mystery fellow with fair skin from the little she could see. This guy, walked up to her bed, got under the blanket and gathered her into his arms in a strong embrace. Crystal appeared to calm down and nuzzle into his chest like a baby.

Amy smiled. She didn't care if this was a figment of her imagination or a manipulation of her wants done by the doctor. This is what she wanted for Crystal. For her to be safe and protected.
