Kei Takishima x Reader: Smile to Love

You fell in love with the wrong person. You didn't want to get hurt so you didn't want to talk to him in any way you think of.

You were walking your way to your room when you saw him going your way. You ignored him and just went inside your room. He followed.

"[Name]. Can I talk to you for a few minutes?" He asked. Confused, you still agreed to talk to him.

"I need to tell you what I really feel." He said.

"What is it?" You asked, not looking at him. You were focusing on the book you were currently reading.

"I love you." He said straightforwardly.

"What? You're saying that you love me even if there's a girl out there who loves you!?" You exclaimed and slammed your book on the table.

"What? No way. Yes. There are girls who like me but its just a friend!" He shouted back, shocked.

"Stop! Just don't make me feel this way! It just hurts." You said and covered your ears. Kei took your hands and you looked at him in disbelief.

"Don't say that! I love you and that's it! No more excuses." He said and hugged you tight. You cried.

You never wanted to feel this way but you can't help it. You loved him ever since. You sobbed but he still hugged you tight and buried his face on the crook of your neck.

"Tell me that you love me too." He said under your skin. You blushed and wiped off your tears.

"I can't. I can't say it yet." You were hesitant but you were able to say those words and looked away from him. He pushed you a bit and looked at you straight in the eyes. It was like he was searching the love and answers from your eyes.

He found the hope that he was looking for. He closes his eyes and a few moments later, he looked at you and just nodded. He silently walked out of your room.

Once you knew that he was completely gone, you buried your face on your pillow.

"Why? Why didn't I tell him that I love him too. I was so stupid. His love for me was my only chance but I didn't even tell him that I felt the same way." You thought and sobbed all your heart out. You really regretted that moment.

All afternoon, you cried. You didn't even bother to eat dinner when night time fell. Your door was locked and you ignored all the people who knocked on your door.

You glanced at your window and saw the beautiful night sky. It was filled with stars and a full moon.

"The moon is lucky to have the stars accompany him. How could I be happy if there's hesitation in my life and I keep pushing people away?" You thought and fresh tears began to ran down your cheeks.

"I could've just told him how I felt. It would be just so easy but now? I'm regretting all the things I've done." You murmured to yourself until you fell asleep.

The Next Day...

You woke up to the ray of sunlight that's peeping through your curtains.

You sat up and rubbed your eyes. You stared at your alarm clock and realized that you woke up early.

You took a shower and prepared for your classes. You looked at the mirror and saw your puffy red eyes. You washed your face and at the very least, your eyes became less reddish.

You walked out of your room and headed to your classroom without a word.

You saw Kei and you just walked past him. He was a bit shocked but he just held the bad feeling inside. You had the urge to cry but you can't. You need to stay strong for the right moment to come.

Once inside the classroom, you sat on your seat and calmed yourself down. Chill out. It'll be alright.

During classes, you're listening to the teachers attentively. Then, a note was passed to you. You were curious but you still opened the paper that says:

Dear [Name],

I just want you to know that I want to apologize for the mistake I've done. Please meet me later at the side of the school after classes. Please.

-Anonymous-

You were shocked and confused at the same time. Focusing on who will meet you there. Not knowing that Kei is smiling at his seat.

After classes, you went to the side of the school, searching for the person who awaits you.

"You arrived." A voice said. You turned around to see Kei. Shocked, you stepped back a little.

"Wait. Please just... hear me out." He said and you just nodded as a response.

"You see. I walked out of your room because I wanted to give you some space to think about your answer to me." He explained. You looked at him.

"Do you... by any chance, have an answer already?" He said and walked towards you. You still looked at him and once he was already in front of you, he smiled. He smiled ever so bright.

You stared at him for a moment and realized that you were also smiling at him.

"Yes. I do love you too." You said with a smile. His eyes widened and your smile slightly faded.

"Wh-What's wrong?" You asked.

"Nothing. Its just that... you look more beautiful if you smile." He said and took your hands.

He silently cupped your cheeks and gently kissed you. You responded and that moment was the most unforgettable experience of your life.

Minna, I had a terrible time writing this. Honestly, I got goosebumps when I'm writing this. I still hope you read it.
