Senior Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Rita-116 is a SPARTAN-2 commando of the UNSC Navel Special Warfare Command. She has been one of the highly recognized and one out of two of the most important soilders during the Covenant-Human War. The other being Master Chief. She is the second of the most decorated war veterans in the United Nations Space Command and has earned almost all recognizable medals.

She had gained the nickname Wolf as her strategy and her characteristics such as her howl and the distinct color of her eyes, also her dominance when she refers to herself as the Alpha.

The only other people that call her by her full name are John117, Dr.Hasley, and Cortana.

Childhood and Spartan Training

Born around 2509, Margarita lived on her home planet Trious 2 with her mother, father, young brother, and older sister. Margarita was very close to her father who was an engineer. She always looked up to him.

She had always wanted to join the military; just hearing the stories of war excited her mind and even as young as she was, she still dreamt of her goal. She was different from a lot of the other children; mainly the females. Her body was of an athletic build; she was built for speed and strength despite her small size. She had a very impressive impression on Dr. Catherine Halsey along with Lieutenant Jacob Keyes. She was one of the 190 children who were picked out for the SPARTAN-2 program.

Margarita was an Ideal physical and mental candidate for the program despite her age and size, having greater physical proportions, possessing greater strength, exhibiting superior reflexes, and a drive for success.

Margarita was 6 when Dr. Hasley and Lieutenant Keyes visited Trious-2 to analyze her, they were impressed with her Strength, Speed, and senses. As a finale test they asked her to dodge a rubber ball being shot at her at the speed of an on coming bullet and countering her opponent with one shot of a rubber ball with a gun that they provided to her. She was excited and ready for the test.

In a split second, the moment when they thought Margarita would definitely get hit with the ball she dodged and shot her opponent in the head.

Later that year, Margarita and 32 other children were taken from their homes and replaced with flash clones, All of which would die of natural causes to cover up the Kidnappings. Margarita along with other candidates, were sent to planet Reach.

Dr. Hasley informed them of the SPARTAN-2 program and how they along with others would be the protectors of Earth and its colonies. The next morning Margarita found her service tag, Stitch to her uniform, and her new name: Rita-116.

Rita began her new life. But never forgetting the one she left behind. She was trained with other Spartans, who constantly tease about her height and age, under Chief Petty Officer Franklin Mendez. For her seven years she learn her history, military strategy, weapons, and was given physical fitness training. She excelled very nicely and faster than the others in her classes. In one of her classes she met John-117 who she became very close to and stuck with throughout their program. Making one of the few close friends she would ever have.

    "She may be young and she may be small. But her strength and speed excels the rest of the new and old recruits. She is most likely a born Spartan, and a great one too, probably one of the Best.."

At the age of 13 she and John were separated when he was sent for the dangerous SPARTAN-2 augmentation procedures as she would be sent a little bit later. She cried a bit when she was given the news but was ordered by John not to, she obeyed. He promised her that they would see each other soon knowing they would and left it at that telling there finale good-byes on that same day that John would depart.

Now that she was separated from john she spent her time practicing her martial arts in the gym. She was a quiet and serious girl but at the same time Loud and a bit cocky. She would usually challenge some of the men and being the stubborn girl that she was she would not take No for an answer, whether they were big or small, into the ring for a fight whether it was mixed martial arts, boxing, or plain from the streets.

Not shortly after she herself went on the SPARTAN-2 augmentation procedures, she found John and greeted him warmly as if she hadn’t seen him in years, they stuck together through the program along with his two other friends.

Military Career

On Rita's and John’s first mission on his home planet they had the mission of the United Rebel Front at Camp New Hope, were they watched out for each other along with watching their team together. Rita, on an occasion of almost getting shot in the back by a rebel was prevented when john pushed her down and out of the way of cover fire.

  "Don't be....I'll always be there when you need me. No Questions Asked"

This was a small scolding to Rita from John after the fire fight. But a way that John showed how much he cared for her safety by telling her that he would always be there when she needs him most “No Questions Asked”.

Again they were separated as he was sent on his mission to retrieve Dr. Hasley from the covenant, they both knew that it would be a long time before they see each other again for she would be on other missions, John made the same promise to her as before and this time meant it. As they had gotten closer together throughout the program and the missions before.   

"Well looks like we won't be seeing each other for a while huh?

     "No... But I’m still keeping my promise. We’ll see each other again"

This was the last conversation they had before they both departed on their own paths.

Rita had served in many battles against the Covenant. She had made and lost many comrades, but throughout her rough and excruciating missions she had always thought about that promise. She had noticed that her feelings for John had gone beyond wanting his friendship but his love-- that she needed to change; she could not get involved with him because she knew that it would be a distraction to her and John. She had to forget those feelings and eventually that promise as well. She had put those feelings in a bottle and stashed it in the farthest corner of her heart. From then on she had become ruthless a true machine on the battle field.
