I've tried and I've tried to be what you wanted me to be.

I can never be perfect and now I'm drowning in a black sea.

I've tried and I've tried to get where you wanted me to get.

I've tried to be as good as the standards you set.

I've tried  to get better so you would want me.

But I could never measure up to the perfect image you see.

I'm simply not perfect. Never was and never will be. I don't want to be anymore. I'm not perfect. Never was and never will be. And I'm happy that way. 

I pushed myself as hard as I could to reach the top.

Never in my mind was I going to stop.

Never once caring about the real me, that person I had to protect.

I didn't even realize all I was doing was getting myself recked.

I strived to win the race.

Never in my mind was I at an impossible pace.

I didn't care about individuality.

I lost all my creativity.

I'm simply not perfec.t Never was and never will be. I don't want to be anymore. I'm not perfect. Never was and never will be. And I'm happy that way.

I finally realize that there could never be a better me.

So I better start accepting the way God made me.

But I'm the only me they'll ever be.
