"It's now or never." I muttered to myself and shifted into my blonde wolf. 'You're targets are the pack warrior's puppet, don't let me down.' Liam's voice echoed in my head. I blocked him from my mind and dashed forward and signaled the rogues to follow after me. They were to get the rest of the pack.
I quickly separated from the rouges and towards the pack house in hopes to find a few warriors there. However my senses went wild when an intoxicating scent filled my nose. Then another scent assaulted my nose. Charlie. I growled lowly and raced away from his scent and found myself running towards the back of the pack house and once I spotted a black wolf, I kicked it in gear and readied myself to rip this guys throat out only the wolf looked towards me and almost growled until our eyes locked. Mate. Was all I could think of and I quickly skidded to a stop. 'The Alpha is right there Puppet! Kill him now!' Liam screamed in my head
I started shaking my head afraid. 'I can't...' I trailed off and the collar began to shock me. 'You will kill him and you will do it now!' He yelled again, the black wolf took a step forward and I leaped back and started to growl. The shocking lessened but only by a little. The alpha growled back and stepped towards me. Instinctively I lowered my head. The collar shocked again and I dashed forward and tackled the alpha which when our bodies collided, sparks shot everywhere.
Before the alpha could register that I was attacking I bit down on his neck but not in the spot that completed our mate bond. He growled and smashed my back into a tree which forced me to let go of his neck. He charged towards me but I quickly used the wind to toss him to the side but he quickly recovered but he threw me for a loop when fire erupted from his paws.
'Retreat Puppet! I didn't plan for Charlie to work so fast and teach them abilities!' Liam ordered. I howled to signal a retreat and I quickly turned to run away until the alpha tackled into me and pinned me down. I growled and whined and struggled against the alpha. The collar began to shock me. I heard popping and cracking and a human hand around my throat.
"Shift!" A voice that all but relaxed me ordered. I growled viciously which the alpha growled back. "NOW!" His alpha command forcing the shift. I yelped once the shocking of the collar increased. "What is this?" The alpha whispered. "It's what's forcing her to fight with you. I growled and allowed my body to be consumed by fire and the alpha jumped away with a curse. I shifted and dashed into the woods. I needed to get away, Liam would kill him before I'd even get to know him. I whimpered but quickly shook my head and wished I didn't have to kill my mates pack, to kill him or even deny our bond because that won't just kill him but me along with him.
Even now I knew he was coming after me, he wouldn't rest until his mark was evident for all to see and I knew I wanted the same, I wanted to spend my life with him and what pained me more was having to be forced to deny all that and for the first time I hated Liam's guts. I was tackled to the ground once again and the collar began to start shocking me but two hands found there way to it after two tugs the collar was gone and my struggles slowly stopped. "Your not going anywhere mate." The alpha whispered into my ear.
All I could feel was dread in my stomach and knew Liam was going to come for me and make sure I'd pay for allowing the collar to be removed and not once thought about returning to him like he asked me so long ago. I felt sad because I had betrayed someone who put so much faith and work into me and how much I knew he was going to make me pay for that. My mate and I were just a bad joke that the fates put together and now we had to ride the waves and be ready for the pain.
