A New Friend

It's been so long! And I'm extremely sorry for not posting! I hope to be getting on a weekly schedule of posting these chapters, so I won't be literally dead for like half the year XD

   James fell back as the animal fell on him. It's claws digging into his chest. James let out a small scream as the pain was getting worse each time the Pokemon dug its claws into him. Jessie ran over but slowed down as she saw what the Pokemon was. She laughed a little and pulled it off her James, holding it in front of her, "James don't worry! It's only a Vulpix!" James instantly felt embarrassed because he thought he was being attacked.
"Why did it jump on me then?" James asked, looking at the Vulpix.
"The poor thing looks scared!" She said, hugging the small Pokemon, "maybe we should take him with us...." Jessie's voice trailed off as she thought about what Giovanni would think about brining a 'useless' Pokemon along with them. But she pushed that thought out of her mind and stared at James. He was looking at Vulpix with a smile on his face, "it couldn't hurt to have some adorable company I guess!" He said. Vulpix looked up at Jessie and happily exclaimed, "Vulpix! Vulpix!" As if saying he wanted to stay with them.
"He looks like he wants to come with us." Jessie stated and put the Pokemon on the ground. Vulpix walked around the small clearing, but quickly returning to the blanket Jessie had set out a while ago. He lay down next to James and nuzzled up against him. James couldn't help but smile as he reached down to pet the small Pokemon's fur, "we have to keep him, it doesn't look like he's going anywhere!" James laughed and watched as Jessie sat down next to him.
"So, what should we do tomorrow? Since we're staying here for the night. We need to find Meowth as fast as possible. Who knows, maybe he already found pikachu and is looking for us right now." She said, looking up at the sky hopefully. The sun was starting to set and they didn't really have any shelter from the cold night Except a blanket.
"I don't know, but while there's still light we should take refuge in a tree or something." James added, before standing up and starting to pack up their small arrange of things. Jessie nodded and picked up the now sleeping Vulpix in her arms, she smiled and walked over to where James was. He was almost done packing their bag.
Once they were done, they set off. Jessie had spotted a larger tree west of where they just were, so that's where they headed. After almost giving up and returning back to the clearing, they spotted the tree. "Ladies first?" James said, and helped Jessie climb the tree, still holding Vulpix. Once she was up and settled next to a branch, James climbed up and say next to her. He put the blanket over top of them both and Jessie slowly lay Vulpix on top of the blanket. "Goodnight," James said as the final rays of sun went away.
"Night." Jessie replied. They both quickly fell asleep. For tomorrow they needed all the energy they could get to find Meowth....
