Opening his eyes, Y/n stares blankly at the increasingly familiar ceiling of the link unit for a few seconds, waiting for the lingering effects of his mind transfer between bodies to fade. Every time he transferred back into his normal human body, he was left with a slight headache which annoyed the life out of him, but there was nothing to do besides wait.

And once it did, he finally pushed open the lid of the link unit and climbed out, using the wall as support as he left the room containing the linked unit. He then walked into the main room, which was basically everything room since it had the kitchen and was close to the entrance to leave the building.

He grabbed the nearest closet chair and sat down in front of a desk with books scattered around, leftovers from his earlier exploration of the building.

But he couldn't care less about them at the moment as he leaned back in the chair and closed his eyes while grabbing his nose bridge.

It was strange, even though his human body was in the lab the entire time, it still felt exhausted. Maybe it was mental fatigue rather than physical, especially since Neytiri was quite hard on him during their outing.

*FlashBack*

Ducking under a tree root, Y/n glances ahead at the older woman walking in front of him. They haven't spoken since leaving the High Camp, but things felt... tense, to say the least. It was already awkward enough having to ride her ikran to the ground, which was cool as hell but also scary because of, well... Neytiri.

Mustering the courage, Y/N opened his mouth, trying to start a conversation between the two.

Y/n: So.... where exactly are we heading, Neytiri?

She glanced over her shoulder at him briefly before shifting her attention back to the path ahead.

Neytiri: Do not speak to me in such a casual tone, sky demon. You're only alive now because my olo'eyktan, my mate, deems it so. As for his reason for having me, of all the hunters, be the one teaching you, elude me, but nevertheless, I'll do what he wants.

Y/n: Okay, okay, calm down. I didn't mean to offend you or anything.

Stopping where she stood, Neytiri turned to face him and reached for her bow, which she carried on her back, and pushed it outward towards him.

Neytiri: Do you see this bow? It was entrusted to me by my father on his deathbed after an attack on my clan's home by you, sky people. This bow was meant to be passed down from generation to generation to the next olo'eyktan. Do you want to know what he told me before he died?

Neytiri: Protect the people. So if at any point I suspect any ill intent from you towards my clan or worse, my family, I'll shoot an arrow right into your body. Do I make myself clear, sky human?

Y/n: Yeah, yeah, 100 percent understood.

And just like that, she placed the bow back on her shoulder and began walking again, with Y/n hanging back slightly, scared of making any mistake that could probably kill him.

They kept walking a little longer before Neytiri raised her hand to signal him to stop, and he quickly obeyed. She crouched down, looking at something on the ground. Doing the same, he moved closer to see what was wrong.

He quickly noticed that what caught Neytiri's attention was a pair of footprints from some kind of animal. Her eyes glance at him before crouch walking, following the footprints that lead them to a small open area.
