Marissa's POV
I'm waiting to board my flight and I can just feel the anxiety seeping through my clothing as if someone spilt their drink on me as I sit in this chair with my hoodie up. I can't believe I managed to get this far away from Eric. It took 6 months for me to build the courage to leave him, nevermind flee the country. I know what you're thinking, just get a restraining order but you don't understand who he is and what he's capable of. You try dating one of the top gang leaders in the United States and see how easy it is to get away. Granted I hadn't any clue of who he was to that extent. I just thought he was my high school sweetheart who I was lucky enough to continue dating after graduating but these past 6 months exposed him. I was hopelessly in love with a monster who loved the hustle more than me.
"Flight 47 to Cheshire, England now boarding" I heard my flight being called on the speaker and I glanced around me. No site of anyone who may be following me. I let out a heavy sigh and grabbed my bags. I headed towards the gates, went through security and finally ended up in the plane luckily getting the window seat I desperately hoped for.
"Please be good to me England" I softly spoke before taking off in the hope for a safer life and drifting to sleep for the next 6 hours I'd be on this plane.

"Ladies and Gentleman, we are about to land. It is instructed that you all please fasten your seatbelts for your safety" I slowly opened my eyes to be greeted by the night sky and an elderly woman fastening my belt for me probably assuming I was still asleep. I can't believe I made it. As we were landing I took my purse and searched for my no longer needed cellphone. I took the device, wiped it clean and stuck in between the seats. Free for someone else because I didn't need any reminders of my old life.
"You may now unfasten your belts, thank you flying with us. Have a lovely day" I sighed in relief and removed my belt. I walked out of the plain and into the airport of my new home. I grabbed all my bags and sat down on a bench near some breakfast stand. I had just opened the account my parents had been saving me money in for emergencies and college if I decided to go so getting an apartment was the least of my worries. I went to a small booth and exchanged some of my money for my new currency, pounds. Once that was done I walked outside of the airport doors, and took in my surroundings. A beautiful rainy city that smelled of hope and tea. I quickly frowned realizing I didn't have an umbrella. I cringed and looked for a cab. I don't know how that stuff works out here. As I'm standing there trying to avoid stepping into the rain while flailing my arms as 3 cabs pass by I hear a deep chuckle from behind me. I turn around to find a blonde man with ocean blue eyes smiling at me and shaking his head.
"You American tourists never fail to amuse me." he croaked, gaining an eyeroll from me.
"I'm not a tourist actually, I live here now so if you wouldn't mind keeping your assumptions to yourself stranger that'd be great." I snarled at him. Who does he think he is saying that to some girl he doesn't even know? Just because he's hot....Wait no, he's not hot! He's obnoxious!
"Ooo, you've got a mouth on you? How fun! I'll see you around Marissa" he smirked and turned on his heel walking towards the rain after stopping a cab for me. How did he know my name? Who even is he?
