WEDNESDAY 10:00 AM. JUJUTSU HIGH ADVISORY CHAMBER.
The atmosphere in the room was stagnant, thick with the smell of old parchment and the fear of the unknown.
Behind the tall, translucent shoji screens sat the elders of the Jujutsu world—disembodied voices who thrived on a hierarchy they could control.
In the center of the room stood Y/N.
She was the picture of lethal, unyielding elegance. Her matte-black tactical boots were planted firmly on the tatami mats, a silent, heavy defiance of the "sacred" space.
She wore her high-collared white blouse, the black tactical corset cinching her waist, and her Hannya mask staring forward with its unmoving, golden snarl.
To her left, Gojo Satoru leaned against a thick wooden pillar, his hands in his pockets. He wasn't there to represent her; he was there because he refused to miss the friction between the ancient and the obsolete.
"The report from the Goodwill Event is... troubling," a raspy, ancient voice spoke from behind the center screen. Principal Gakuganji sat nearby, his fingers resting on the strings of his guitar case.
"A non-sorcerer, an 'entity' with no registered Cursed Energy, dismantled a Special Grade curse in under three minutes. Without a single mark upon her person."
"And she did it in style, didn't she?" Gojo chimed in, his voice bright and intentionally grating.
"Those boots really pull the whole 'unstoppable force' look together. Very modern-meets-Heian chic."
"This is not a joke, Satoru!" another voice barked. "This... 'Pillar'... is an anomaly. Tengen-sama may have summoned her to guide and protect the Vessel, Itadori Yuji, but her actions in the field are a variable we cannot calculate."
"Tengen-sama's orders were for her to oversee the boy," Gakuganji added, his eyes narrowing at Y/N.
"Not to act as an independent executioner. By the laws of the Jujutsu regulations, any entity of such power that does not answer to this council must be—"
"I answer to the Star," Y/N interrupted.
Her voice wasn't loud, but it was a low, resonant bell that seemed to vibrate the very screens the elders hid behind. It carried the weight of a mountain.
"You speak of me as if I am a subordinate," Y/N continued, her Hannya mask tilting just a fraction of a millimeter toward the screens.
"I was guarding the foundations of this land while your ancestors were still shivering in the dark. Tengen called, and I answered because the Vessel must be tempered, not merely contained. I do not 'answer' to a council of men who hide behind paper. I am under the jurisdiction of the foundation itself."
She took a single, deliberate step forward. The weight of her energy suddenly flared. The tea in Gakuganji's cup began to ripple in perfect, concentric circles, and the wooden floorboards groaned under the sheer density of her presence.
"If you wish to challenge Tengen's choice of guide," Y/N said, "feel free to step out from behind those screens. Otherwise, return to your shadows and stay out of my way while I walk the path with the boy."
The room went deathly silent. Gojo's grin turned sharp and genuinely amused.
"She's got a point," Satoru added, pushing off the pillar. "Tengen brought her here to make sure Sukuna stays in his box and Yuji stays alive. If you guys try to interfere with her 'guidance,' you're technically defying the Star Religious foundation. And that's a lot of paperwork even for you guys."
He walked over to Y/N, standing tall beside her. "Besides, I've already decided to assist her in her 'integration' into the modern world. Think of me as the local liaison."
"You are overstepping, Satoru!"
"I'm actually under-stepping," Gojo countered, his voice dropping into a low, lethal hum. "Because if I weren't here to keep things 'civil,' she probably would have brought this entire pagoda down the moment you suggested 'decommissioning' her. Right, Pillar?"
Y/N didn't look at him, but her aura smoothed out, turning from a roar to a low, predatory hum. "I have no interest in killing old men. But the Vessel is mine to protect. Do not let your fear of the unknown blind you to the necessity of my presence."
She turned on her heel, her tactical boots making a heavy, final thud against the wood as she walked toward the exit.
"Meeting adjourned!" Gojo called out, waving a hand dismissively as he followed her out.
OUTSIDE THE CHAMBERS
The three first-years—Itadori, Megumi, and Nobara—were waiting in the courtyard.
Itadori looked relieved to see them, while Nobara was still eyeing Y/N's boots with a mix of respect and envy.
"Whoa," Itadori whispered as they approached. "Is everything okay? Did they give you trouble because of the fight?"
Y/N stopped in front of the boy, her Hannya mask looming over him. She reached out a black-gloved hand, resting it briefly on his shoulder. The weight wasn't heavy, but Itadori felt a strange sense of grounding—as if his own heartbeat had suddenly synced with the earth.
"The council is irrelevant, Yuji," Y/N said, her voice softer than it had been inside. "Your progress is the only metric that matters. Do not let their stagnation infect your spirit."
"Yes, ma'am!" Itadori chirped, giving a clumsy but sincere bow.
"Come on," Gojo said, sliding into the space between Y/N and the students, his hand finding the small of her back—a gesture she tolerated with a slight, stiff tension.
"The Pillar has finished her 'guidance' for the morning. Now, it's time for some culture. Ginza. Steak. And no talk of ancient spirits or crusty elders."
"I told you, Satoru," Y/N murmured, though she started walking beside him. "I do not require 'culture'."
"Everyone needs culture," Gojo whispered, leaning closer to the mask. "Especially when it comes with a 5-star wine list."
TO BE CONTINUED.
