Chapter Thirteen - The Sky Under The Sea
Tony's POV
"Tony? Tonnnyyyy? TONY!? WAKE UP JESUS FUCKING CHRIST IT'S ONE IN THE AFTERNOON YOU'LL BURN TO A CRISP IN THAT SUN!"
I slowly awoke from my slumber in a daze, any attempt to open my eyes was stunted by the sun glaring directly onto my face. I rolled over so I was on my stomach and tilted my head sideways to look at the shouting person.
"Typical of you to go all mumsy on me now we're away." I mumbled, grinning up at Sammie.
"Yes well if you burn you'll be in pain then I'll have to sit and listen to you whinge for hours. Plus, I wouldn't be able to touch you in fear of causing you pain and I think I can speak for us both when I say that is neither good nor fun."
I smirked and waggled my eyebrows at her to which she sighed, rolling her eyes and walking back into the villa through the patio doors.
Deciding it would be best to follow her advice before she guts me and sells my organs on the black market, I gathered my towel off the sun lounger and headed inside to get a beer. Skye and Jaime were curled up on the sofa together taking a siesta in the main living area and I could see Sammie in the kitchen just off it making some lunch.
"What's for lunch, baby?" I asked, wrapping my arms around her waist and hugging her from behind.
She turned, grinning up at me and kissing my chin lightly.
"Spicy chicken salad. It's too hot for anything too heavy or warm. Plus this will tide us over until late evening so we can go out for dinner when it's cooler."
"Sounds perfect. Just like someone I know." I trailed kisses along her neck as I spoke.
"You're such a suck up. Piss off and drink your beer."
I laughed and walked away, grabbing a bottle from the fridge on the way. I headed back out into the back garden area to find Mike, Vic and Unique who I'd last seen swimming in the pool at the side of the villa.
We spent what must have been an hour, if not more splashing around with the various inflatables the girls had made us bring, playing games to see who could manage to jump from the side of the pool into the inflatable ring or who could hold their breath for the longest. Stupid stuff that kids would do. Eventually, Sammie called us in to eat and we all sat around the breakfast bar/island in the middle of the kitchen helping ourselves to the salad and other various snacks she'd prepared.
"Aren't you all glad i'm dating a good cook. If she wasn't here we'd all either be skint from eating out all the time. Either that or starving."
Sammie glared over at me giving me the 'shut up you fucking idiot' look.
"I'm surprised someone hasn't hit you yet. You're such a little bitch sometimes." she retored, smiling sarcastically over at me from across the table.
"I guess i'm just too lovable!" I grinned back, returning quickly to eating before she could respond but I'm pretty sure I heard her scoff softly to herself.
"Tony's right man this is awesome. Fuck going out later you can cook all our meals from now on!" Mike chimed in.
Sammie glared at him, "Oh yes, because i'm obviously going to spend my holiday cooking for you lot. Take a hike you fuckers."
Everyone laughed as they continued shovelling food into their faces and conversation flowed lightly for the remainder of the afternoon.
That evening, I sat on the veranda at the back of our apartment with the guys drinking beer while the girls had gone off to the beach mentioning something about the sunset. The air was warm but not so humid that it would be difficult to sleep. It was practically perfect.
