Chapter 5:

The gruff voice startled me, causing, once again, another accident of the day, face planting the floor.

" How many times will this happen" I groaned out, lifting myself into a sitting position, as I rub my poor abused nose.

" Again I ask, who are you?"

My tired gaze snaps up to the man's gruff voice, the icy depths of his blue eyes seeing through my soul.

Woah, talk about deep.

Mentally face palming myself for the thoughts that come in mind.

" I'm waiting" he snaps once again, tapping his shoe to emphasize his impatience.

Truly hate when people do that.

Finally getting the guts to stand up, trying really hard not to place too much weight on my injured ankle, and clearing my throat, I speak,

" Well good evening to you too"

I really hate myself right now.

He seems amused, in a way, and cracked a small smile before composing himself into a ' serious' mood.

" It's nice to know your knowledge on the time of day" I roll my eyes, realizing he's teasing my failed attempt of introducing myself.

" Sorry about that, I tend to be sarcastic without my acknowledgement and really didn't want to pass as a prissy bit-"

" Daddy!!!!!"

Startled from that random scream, I fix my gaze at the bouncy blonde, literally skipping steps, as she jumps her way down the staircase.

" Princess" he embraces the girl and picks her up.

His broad arms swallowing poor Lolly whole, I'll be surprised if she can even breathe after that much stress put on her tiny lungs.

" How was work daddy?" She grins, her eyes twinkling as if she knew a big secret.

" It was stressing and tiring and I really wanted one of your famous bubble baths" he pouts, kissing her cheek as she covered her mouth and giggled.

" Your silly daddy"

I stare at both of them with envy, wishing I had this same relationship with that sperm donor.

" Oh hi Mickey" she waved happily, letting her twinkling blue eyes stare at my saddened gray ones.

" Hi, cuttie pie" I grin, " What happened to your need of sleep?" I quirk a brow, amused at the sudden shy face she put on.

" Well- I- di- did sle-sleep" she fiddled with her words, stuttering like a cute baby robot.

What is up with technology and I today?

Her dad smirks, obviously amused at his daughter's petty response as to why she's awake at this hour.

But that didn't stop her from blurting out the next words,

" She's our nanny, pappa" her small pointer finger manages to look strong, as it's directed towards me.

" Oh really?" He smiles gently, glancing my way before returning his gaze to the babbling girl.

" Yes daddy, she's so nice and awesome, she even let me ride on her skateboard today"

" Well that sounds like fun"

" It was daddy, it was" she bounced in his arms, a lil shocked that at this time of day she still had this much energy after spending the whole day on the park.
