I was walking home from school with my best friend Brittney.
"Skylar what do you think about a beach theme birthday? It's Perfect!"
"Perfect for you Brittney"
I gave her a warning look.
"Ok ,ok how about a fox theme? Your always saying how much you love foxes."
Brittney gave me a grin and I let out a sigh.
"Fine then we'll do it then" I Agreed
"Yay we're gonna have a fox party were gonna have a fox party!"
She kept singing it all the way to my house. Five minutes later I got in my house and began to do my homework for math class in the kitchen. I looked at my moms photo and it reminded me how much I miss her warm hugs.
My mom died in an accident last year. She would always hold me so tight and hug me when I'm depressed. She got me through some tough times. Now it's just me, my dad, and my little brother
Dad came barging in the door and seemed very excited.
"You seem excited dad."
"Of course tomorrow is your birthday!"
"What theme do you want it this year sweetie?" My dad asked
"My friend suggested a fox theme so I'm gonna go with that." I said
"Weird but ok, anything for my sweet little girl."
"Not a little girl anymore dad."
I gave him a death stare. Nick came downstairs with his laptop and sat the seat across from me.
"Oh hey sis you got home early..."
He began to walk slowly up the stairs.
"What are you hiding Nick?!" I questioned
"Nothing..."
I began to run after him and me being my idiot self I tripped over a wire and down poured frosting onto my hair. Nick is known for his clever but annoying pranks.
Nick went into my room and locked it.
"DADDY!"
My dad was walking up the stair humming with his eyes closed. I could tell he was cheerful. What he didn't realize for a second was I had FROSTING in my hair!
"Yes swee...OH MY GOD!"
"I need to take a shower but Nick went in my room and locked it!" I whined.
Dad went up to my room stepped back and tackle the door.
"Dad you broke my door!" I said in frustration.
"Sorry Hun I'll fix that later."
My dad saw no one and then I suddenly I heard a noise from the closet.
Dad began walking forward to the closet slowly like he was in a horror movie. I was starting to get very annoyed.
"Dad just GO!"
Dad hesitated and started walking faster. He opened the door and I saw a 10 year old lazy boy on his butt with his phone and earbuds on with chocolate in his hand that he stolen from my closet.
"NICK YOUR GROUNDED" My dad said in a deep voice trying to be scary.
Nick screamed like a girl and went running to his room.
"finally." I said
Dad was busy setting up the replacement for my door to hear what I said while I was getting the towel to take a shower. Once my dad got out of the room I got undressed and hopped into the shower.
Warm showers feel so good. I began to sing...
"What does the fox say?"
Once I got out of the shower I looked in the mirror and pictured my self with fox ears.
"So cute" I thought to myself.
I put on my pajamas and went to bed on my soft mattress.
"Skylar!" Said a strange fox man.
" come with my or you will be killed skylar!"
"Killed by what?"I asked with curiosity.
Suddenly a shadow appeared before me. It had red eyes and the darkness was grabbing me. I tried pulling away but didn't budge. The darkness gotten me and I woke up from a terrible dream.
I always have that dream every night I wonder what it could mean.
