Merlin was drowning, and there was nothing he could do about that.

Merlin was backing up to the direction Arthur went in. He kept backing up until he hit a rock. He couldn't back up anymore.
I have to run, I have to find Arthur.
Merlin was about to make a run for it when an arrow flew right by his head and bounced off the rock wall behind him. It just barley missed, next time it probably wouldn't.
"Arthur! They're here!" Merlin shouted. Another arrow was shot. Merlin jumped out of the way and started running in Arthurs direction.
"Arthur!"

"Arthur!"
Oh no... Merlin.
Arthur started running back to where he had last left Merlin.
"Merlin get out of there!" He yelled to him, hoping he already had.
An arrow flew past Arthur. Which meant that they had started shooting at his servant.
"MERLIN!"
Merlin came around the corner, running toward Arthur.
He was alright. Arthur sighed in relief, but the look on Merlins face scared him.
"Arthur behind you!" Merlin yelled
Arthur spun around. A man with a bow, ready to fire, was right behind him. How did he get there, Arthur didn't know.
The man fired,
and it defiantly wasn't going to miss. Everything seemed to be going in slow motion. Arthur was suddenly on the ground, everything had happened so fast he wasn't sure what had happened. When he opened his eyes the scene that greeted him was terrible. Merlin fell to his knees, an arrow in his stomach. The man who had shot the arrow was on the ground unconscious, Merlin had used his magic to make him fly back. (Arthur does not know this...)
"No!" Arthur got up and ran over to Merlin. He was staring blankly at the man. His shirt, stained red, It was soaked in blood.
"M-Merlin!" Arthur stuttered in disbelief .
Merlin started falling forward. Arthur caught him right before he hit the ground. He lay Merlins head on the ground gently.
I have to get him out of here...
"Just hang on Merlin... Just hang In
there."
