Beta Soren's (Socks) POV
As the male pup once again fell to the ground I rubbed my forehead. A headache was forming behind my eyes. Kyle, who according to their ex-Alpha had been part of our pack, had no instincts at all. He had yet to even get close to hitting me.
When Thrace called a halt to our training I let out a sigh of relief. On learning of yesterday's abject failure, he had decided to join us today. He couldn't understand how we didn't even get past basic introductions let alone assessment.
Today he felt our pain. He took my annoyance, giving me what I thought would be a welcome break. The only male in the group of teenagers, having been a part of our pack, he should of had some training even if he left when he was young. How wrong I was. At least my pup had some anger driven fighting skills. This one could barely walk without falling over.
I stood to the side as everyone finally circled around Thrace. His eye was twitching in annoyance as low rumbles emerged from his chest. I was actually relieved he was as annoyed as I had been yesterday. I had doubted my abilities after yesterday's farce.
"Your level of incompetence is astounding. I am truly amazed some of you can even walk and breathe at the same time." He growled out his frustration. "Training is done for the day."
I hung my head at these pups obliviousness
as they turned to walk away. Did they not realize they had just insulted the Alpha by not waiting to be dismissed."I have not dismissed you. I have not finished." That would be the reason you wait. They will tell you when their finished. I knew their Alpha was ineffectual at best, but to not realize something so basic. Turning back I watched as Thrace calmed himself.
"Training is cancelled today, but you will all report here tomorrow at sunrise. You will bring only yourself and a small bag of necessities. If you are unsure of what a necessity is Beta Soren will make himself available to help you pack. For the next week you will be living with us. You will learn to not only fight but to be a werewolf, as you all seem to have forgotten. Am I clear?"
Way to throw me under the bus brother. Now I would have to stick around and help them pack as I'm positive that these house pups don't even know the meaning of the word necessity.
I was pulled from my thoughts as Thrace started yelling at the teens before us.
"Do you think I give a shit about your human lives? If you spent less time with humans and more with werewolves maybe you wouldn't be so worthless. Is sitting in your school going to protect this island from stronger packs that want it? Will it protect you from males who want to forcibly mate with you? Will it protect you from hunters? No!" He roared. "All that human school will do is rot your brains and turn you into whiny sycophants to those that would destroy you"
"Bbbut..." One of the pups stuttered out.
"No, whatever self obsessed excuse you seem to think is so important, just no. I am your Alpha. You do not question me. When I say something will be, you just nod and say 'Yes Sir'. Now Beta Socks, I mean Beta Soren, will accompany each of you to your homes and help you pack. I was giving you the evening, but I now believe it will be better to start now. After you pack he will escort you to our part of the island. No complaining and no questions. Am I understood? Then you are dismissed."
Thrace and I joined the other trainers as we waited for the pups to leave.
"Alpha," queried my annoyance. "Uhm Sir? I really can't have a sleepover. Can't I just come over during like school hours. I promise I'll practice at night when I'm home."
