The damp, subterranean air of the basement seemed to freeze at the mention of those two names. The flickering candlelight cast long, jagged shadows against the concrete walls, mirroring the unease radiating from the three Disaster Curses.
Jogo actually recoiled, his hand trembling as he gripped his pipe. A flash of memory—a searing, localized distortion of space-white light and a coldness that bit deeper than any frost—flickered behind his eye. He remembered the last encounter with (Y/N) (L/N). It hadn't been a fight; it had been an erasure.
"How about Verloren and (Y/N)?" Jogo’s voice echoed, thin and sharp. "They are the same as Gojo Satoru. No... they are the variable we didn't account for."
Beside him, Hanami tightened their grip on their floral arm, the wood creaking under the pressure. Mahito, usually so flippant, had stopped playing with his transfigured soul. He looked down at his palms, feeling a phantom ache where (Y/N)’s curse technique had once unraveled his very technique.
"Even if the Six Eyes are neutralized," Mahito whispered, his voice devoid of its usual playfulness, "everything is still in vain. (Y/N) is an unknown force... a cheat code in the blueprint of this plan. And Verloren... that thing doesn't even belong in our cycle of cursed energy."
A heavy, suffocating silence descended upon the basement. The plan to seal Gojo felt like a drop of water in a desert if those two remained on the board.
Then, a sound broke the stillness—a low, rhythmic wheeze that climbed into a full, melodic laugh.
Kenjaku was doubled over, his shoulders shaking. He clutched his stomach, the stitches on his forehead appearing to pulse with his mirth. "Right... I almost forgot about the two of them," he gasped, wiping a stray tear of laughter from his eye. He sighed, a dark, satisfied sound, and straightened his robes.
"Don't look so miserable, Jogo," Kenjaku said, his eyes glinting with a terrifying clarity. "I haven't been idle. (Y/N) will be sealed just as Gojo Satoru will be. We have the Preta Realm prepared specifically for their unique frequency. It’s a cage built for an duo like them."
"And what about Verloren?" Jogo demanded, his voice rising in panic. "He is like Sukuna, but with a hunger that transcends him! He is stronger!"
Kenjaku leaned forward, the shadow of the basement floor swallowing half his face. "Verloren is a god of destruction, yes. But even gods have tethers." He smiled, and it was the most human, yet most monstrous, expression you had ever seen.
"Don't worry. (Y/N) (L/N) is Verloren’s only weakness. (Y/N) possesses a personality that is both entirely selfish and utterly selfless—a paradox that will be their shared downfall"
As his smile grow wider while he continues.
"To save the everyone, (Y/N) will sacrifice herself; to save (Y/N),Verloren will walk right into our trap. In the end, their own hearts will do the work for us."
